A family friend is comming in from Texas tomorrow and we will be spending the better part of a week I'm grand lake. She would love to go 4 wheeling and see some amazing colorado scenery but I am not familiar with the area. Are there any good trails that are challenging but not insane while still really scenic? Also what trails are open out there?? Any help and info is greatly appreciated and any one who wants to come wheeling with us is more than welcome. Thanks
Your best bet would probably be the Gulches (Hackett Gulch, specifically) or even China Wall. Both are pretty easy going. There is one "tough" spot in Hackett Gulch, if you want to call it that. It's a big flat rock with some inclination. Just keep on the throttle and it's a cinch. It ends at a river where you can eat lunch and screw around a bit. Hackett Gulch: TrailDamage.com - Hackett Gulch China Wall: TrailDamage.com - China Wall. Rule Ridge is a super easy trail, rated a 2-5. I haven't been on it, but it is in the area. Ended up going through Estes park to get back and we just occasionally pulled off at random trails on the side of the road and found out where they went. It was alot of fun thanks
