Imogene Pass

Hey, just got into Telluride via Mesa Verde, and plan on doing Imogene Pass in the morning. Just wondering if anybody else is in the area and interested in teaming up. Also, what other trails do you recommend, I'm in the area for 5 days.
Just gorgeous here.

You will love that trail. It is my favorite. I have 2 buddies out there right now for the FJ Cruiser Summit ( their version of a jamboree). You will probably find the trail chokd with traffic as I was told they have 350+ fj's out there right now. Enjoy, we just got back from there and it is awesome.

Just ran it this past Sat. Not my favorite trail in the area, lots of traffic on it. The Ouray side is pretty cool though. If you are going to do it, I would suggest doing it early in the morning. Better chance of missing the crowds. lol

I like Ophir better and for straight up views, you should do the Corkscrew/Cali/Hurricane system. Ophir has some narrow shelf road spots that are real rocky... those sections will get your attention. The others are all basically dirt roads with lots of elevation changes...

Ophir Pass

Corkscrew/Cali/Hurricane system

You have to drive up to Bridal Veil Falls as well... at least to this spot:

The wife and I did not think it was worth driving up to the electric house at the top (as far as you can go up that side). Very little parking up there, can be hard to turn around and you can't see the falls or really get a closer look at the house

Great advise guys, really appreciate the suggestions. We did Ophir from Telluride in the morning, had lunch in Ouray, the came back over Imogene later in the afternoon so there was very little traffic. I've got to say, the Sydney Basin spur was the highlight of the day. The solitude, beauty and wildlife was just fantastic. 2 bucks and 2 doe grazing on the meadow, fun technical climbing. Saw 3 bighorn sheep near the summit which was very exciting. 4 more days to explore, yeehaw!

Nice photos. Our day on Imogene was very cloudy, your photos make it look so much nicer. Guess I'll have to run that one again to see if it ranks higher for me then.
