In need of a welder.

Anyone know of a good welder in the springs area. Im trying to add a spare tire carrier to my rear bumper. And would like to save as much as I can without buying a completely new one. Here are some pics of what I have now. Im not even sure if I'll be able to add one to it. Any thoughts?

Are you thinking about fabricating something yourself or having someone do it? Custom fabrication can get pretty expensive unless you can do the bulk of the work yourself. A number of companies offer tire carriers as add ons to their bumpers. You could probably adapt one to your bumper for not that much extra cost.

No worries Ed. I love welding. Stick, mig, tig, I'm all about it. I've been welding since I was 16. I was actually drawing up designs to build my own bumpers, tire carrier, and rock rails. I just don't know where to buy steel from here in the springs.

Well, there's Glaser Steel and Fabricating on 31st about 2 blocks south of Cimmaron. There is a scrap metal warehouse on Colorado just west of 25. Those are the only two that I know of locally. Denver has lots but too far to drive.

Hey John, if you wanted me to weld you one, you'd need the steel, a pivot system, and some bolts to use to boot the tire to it. I drew up some stuff to build my own but just need to buy the steel and make good measurements for everything. If you want it done in a shop, I have no clue who to go to. You could always go to the pull and pay to see if there is a wrecked jeep there with parts you might want.
