Jeeptober Meeting Place Oct 5

This time we will be meeting in Johnson's Village at the Shell Station. The owner is the one that is making our decals.
MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map

This is not the Truck Stop but across the highway to the north.

I will be talking to him about the hit list decals so you can put them on your rigs.

So we have the place now for the time.

Lets start meeting there at around 9:30 AM Saturday morning October 5th. There will be 3 groups for the 3 different trips. We will establish trip leaders and what to do on each trip. I will keep an eye on the Mt Antero trip so we can be sure that it will still be able to be done. There was some snow on the mountains today. I might be doing a quick trip on Thursday to make sure it will be OK. If not we can always do a different trip. Plenty around here to do.

We will try to leave the station by 10:30 to start our day. If you are doing the Chinaman's trip, you can go ahead and get your Jeep ready before we leave the station. You know air down, disconnect, take one last pic of your Jeep before you "Try something?" The trail head to Chinaman's is only about 2 miles from the station.

I have already talked to the Coyote Cantina about our arrival. I told them we would start rolling in at around 6:00 PM. I have reservations for about 38 people including kids. We will be gathering in the back bar area. Just tell them you are with the Jeeptober group. You will just order what you want off the menu. I am not sure if they will have any specials for us either.

If you want to participate in our poker game just talk to your group leader. There will be extra cards for doing something special. Last year is was like who broke down or who did the best as a rookie. Remember this is just for fun. If you want to play fine if not that is ok too. Cards will be dealt at the Coyote Cantina. Top 3 hands split the pot. $5 buy in.

Sunday we will be doing Ironchest and Grizzly lake trails. We can discuss a departure time on Saturday Night. If you want to do something else on Sunday we can always give you a great recommendation on another great trail like Aspen Ridge Road.

Now if you have attended the dinner at the Coyote Cantina and had a few too many, Please ask for a ride. Its not worth loosing everything because of an ego. Besides you don't want a from the local Police.

Now lets all have fun and enjoy our time together.

Like all Jeep get together s there will be no Joking, Teasing, Gossiping, Bullshitting, Looking at others rear ends, Scraping metal, Showing off, Picture taking, Lying, and so on and so forth.

Well that one hell of a bunch of BULLSHIT!!! You know what we are like. We will all be doing the items above so screw it.

If you still want a Jeeptobe decal I need to know by Monday so i can get them ordered. Just reply on the Jeeptober Decal Idea page.

If you have questions you can post them here. or you can call me too

Looked out the window this morning and GOOD NEWS for the Mt Antero trip. There is little or no snow on our mountains. Looks like it should be a go. Looking at the weather report for next there is a chance of rain here on Friday but Saturday is supposed to be clear.

Here is a link to the Weather Channel for Buena Vista. If you want to look at your own the zip code is 81211
