I thought there was going to be a moderate run and a difficult run on Saturday, because not everyone that's going on this is set up to run Chinaman's.

No there will be 2 trails for sure. Trail #3 being Chinaman's and this is a hard trail where you need at least 33" tires and lift to do. Trail #2 is up by St Elmo area. This trail will be to 2 lakes and some mining areas. Hancock lake and Pomoroy lakes are on this trail. These trails are moderate trails. Basically any stock Jeep will be able to do these trails. Trail #1 is up by Cottonwood lake. This goes up to the Mineral Basin with off shoots to Ptarmigan lake and Hope gulch. This is an Easy/Moderate trail. Sunday is going to be a free run where you can pick and choose where you would like to go. Just a good ole fun day!

I have also put rates for motels on the Overnighters tab.

Any questions, just ask and we will see what we can do.

I also wanted to offer that I am a certified Colorado Firefighter and EMT-B and would be willing to work first response/medical aid and stabilization if anyone would like that. I am set to run trail 3 as of now which would probably be where there would be the greatest need.

Will also have one of our local Chaffee County fire/ rescue Captains along on the trip. Trail also has cell service through most of the trip. Looks like there will be some locals joining too. I am trying to get a total count on how many will be coming along. I talked to the people at Tomken Machine and they sound like they will be coming along on trip #3 too.

All I can say is that this weekend will be a blast!!!!

I just found out my two brothers are coming out here for their fall break October 4-7 and we would like to join yall if it's not too late.

So which trails are on saturday? I'm confused as to what the schedule is.

Chinaman's and St. Elmo? or is it Trails 1&2 saturday and chinaman sunday?

My brothers fly out Sunday afternoon so we would only be open for saturday.

Also, what ended up happening with the t-shirts?

Chinaman's is on Saturday along with St Elmo. Trail #1 is still available too. The 3 trails can be done on any day. It all depends on you and your Jeep's capabilities.

As for T-shirts it is a work in progress. We may have found a guy here in BV to do the shirts. Still waiting for pricing. If you want shirts, just put it on here.

So, your camping? Thinking of camping too with a few others. Just not sure if both friday and saturday or only Sat. IF so , have you figured out where yet? I was thinking right at the bottom of Chinamans.

Bottom of Chinaman's is a good place to camp. Low area and tons of room too.

I have been planning to camp in the Four Mile area, just off 285 above town and overlooking the Collegiate Peaks. I'll look into the spot by Chinaman's but I really like it up in Four Mile, might depend on temps too as the lower spot might not be quite as cold.

Well looks like this needs a bump and information. Chatting with Hellcat 03 it doesn't look like we will get the shirts for the run. I guess you will have to wear your favorite Jeeping shirt.

Looks like we will have a good group for the trips on Saturday. So far it looks like Chinaman's will have about 11 Jeeps or so. Trips #1 and #2 are about 10 also. If you guys want lets try to do #2 as the second trip. I would hate to have just a couple of Jeeps on #1 and the rest on #2.

Overnighters list is looking good too. I have posted the link to the Super 8 so you can get your reservations. If you have not put your name in on the Sign up for Jeeptober, please do. I would like to have a number to go by.

If there is anything else that you can think of, lets get it out now. I would hate to have something come up at the last second.

Thanks
Doug J

Ok, read through all the posts; I signed my and Paula (mountaingirl) up on the "signup" thread but wanted to make sure we didn't need to post or sign up anywhere else...

We're wanting to do trails 1 and 2
Be there Saturday and Sunday checking into the Super 8 Friday night...

Also, any info on the poker run? Would like to be involved with that...

So for Saturday I will be late to join. Gotta go to the air force /navy game. I may just go to buena after the game, go soak in the hot springs then go on whichever run happens Sunday.
