We'll be installing a Rubicon Express 3.5 inch suspension lift on T8er's JKUR on Saturday, July 12th in Pine Junction (near the intersection of Hwy 285 and CO 126). Hopefully we'll get started around 9 am and be done around 2 or 3 pm. Between T8er and I we have a decent amount of experience with this kind of work but it will be our first time lifting a JK.
If you want to stop by to help or learn, or just to bench wheel, send me a PM with your actual name, phone and email contact info and I'll provide directions. I'm looking forward to wrenching on a new rig and hope to meet some of you in the process.
A friend had his 4Runner towed to my place on Saturday when it broke down in the mountains. Got him back on the road in a couple of hours. Good tune up for next weekend's JKUR lift party.
if you do go long arm, look at kits that have the bent arms...meaning ones that stay straight off the frame mounts, then arc down to the axle mount. If not the rear arms will drag and be a big anchor on ledges.
Anyone else interested in coming? Even if just to stop by and take in our handy work after running something off the 285 corridor. We'll be having a few beers on the deck after we're done. Send me a PM for directions.
I'm about to pull the trigger on the metal cloak 3.5 and definitely dont want to pay anyone to put it on. Think that'd be something we could tackle in a day?
I have heard that it is pretty awesome. I have installed springs before and usually install everything I buy myself. The kit comes with front and rear track bars. Definitely use tools everyday for work so I definitely want to do this, just would be cool to meet new people and see old ones and have a good time.
After I buy it lol not my choice I would have bought it weeks ago but getting insurance to pay is like pulling teeth. I'll definitely post up when I'm ready.
