local audio shop?

looking to get some new speakers put in the jeep. Anyone got any experiences with any places? Looking to put in a single sub and some speakers. The only issue is that I'd prefer to have the sub hidden/protected and no bigger than 10".

I've heard of quality being the best. David got speakers and new radio with detachable face plate for his Suzuki. I've been in to talk to them about a viper alarm. I know Quality has marine grade speakers and other audio equipment, which is the route I'm going to take.

I can always help out too - I build police vehicles now, but I was an installer at Best Buy for over 8 years. PM me if you need some help!

Dont bother with a marine amp... they are not really more than a different case and arent water proof or resistant more than a regular amp would be in our situations and come with a higher price tag.

Do the install yourself or with us. I can help too if you need. For a 10", its going to be hard to hide it and still have enough volume to push it. you can get a really nice 8 and do a box under a seat to keep it hidden. Or you can do the stock route and stick it in the center console. My girlfriends TJ we mounted her amp in the center console instead and just made a temporary box for her 10" behind it. Still trying to figure out the best place to mount hers more permanently.

Problem with our Jeeps is the sound stage. Subs sound great with the top on but disappear when the top is off. Gotta get a nice downfiring box or something where the bass can resonate in order to keep it.

There are still some good ways to get deepcent sound in a TJ... check out what I did with my audio here: My TJ audio system

Obviously, you may not want to go as far as I did, but we can easily adapt only certain aspects to still get good sound.

Appreciate the offers fellas. I'm the type of person that listens to litterally every kind of music. 8" for the sub is fine with me. I just don't want larger than 10". I was hoping to figure out a way to use my center console area. I've got a tuffy console with the area in the front for the radio that runs parallel to the hand brake. I don't use the radio area for anything. Was hoping to house either the amp or sub in that area. I actually use the larger compartment for storing a lot of things because I never have the windows in my jeep any longer.
