ugh. no comment.

almost had that happen to me on that t33 plane crash trail. had the wife (very very not qualified) spotting me. i was pretty determined to make it up the shelf. luckily a jk owner behind me got out and stepped in right as i started to tilt way back and right. he grabbed my front bumper to keep me from tumbling. thank god.

And this is why I will never spot someone until I am more than confident in my ability for anything off roading. Which will take a long time and I'm ok with that. It's also why I trust a lot of guys on here to spot me

So, what are your tips or recommended reading for becoming a better spotter?

This.

I actually would like to get out more on our next few runs and have some of the spotters show me what they are looking at and why. I figure the best way to learn to spot is to look over the shoulder of someone doing a good job of it.

Start simply by watching this video...look at how the jeep unloads in the back corner and tips...
What line shoulda the driver taken?
And watch good spotters and wheel with individuals that pick good lines. When you're waiting get out and watch the spotter direct other jeeps...

It amazes me how dumb people are.

Yes I know I have made my mistakes while wheeling, but the guy should not have even been trying go up this since I feel like he had no clue as to what he was doing. As for the spotter.... She's a dumb one.

You could simply tell it wasn't the right line to start with, the jeep was way off camber then, the driver let the dumb lady tell them to turn so it's more off camber? Dumb people, we have to many of them in society.
