I got on my rocker really, really hard coming up out of the creek on holy cross, so did john. The shorter wheel base rigs didn't as bad. But a well built rig had a front axle shaft snap in the creek , not fun.
My idea of few is no more than 10.

So, you gonna drag your sorry ass out there John?

And you're supposed to fix Doug's fat finger in the first post so no one gets any stupid ideas...

I liked Todd's idea of carrying a front stub. Gonna make one up from my busted driver's side and drag it along.

Holy cross is Saturday the 4th? I'd planned a trip to be in CO on Sunday but can maybe come over early as I wanted to find a group for this trail. I did chinaman and holy cross last year but stopped at french creek with a stock susp. JK on 33s, but have a lifted JK 35s now.

Hi everyone, just bought a 2014 JKUS last week and I'm really anxious to get off the pavement. I'd love to meet some fellow Jeep owners/Coloradans at one of these October events. My rig is bone stock though and although I've had lifted trucks and a lifted Hummer H3, sadly they were all mall crawlers. I'm determined that the new Jeep doesn't follow in their footsteps. That being said, I'm a noob to off-roading so I don't want to hinder or slow anyone down; but I'm game to try anything/follow people if they think a stock JKU can handle it. I really enjoy the forum so far and seems full of informative and great people.
One question I have are any of these trails close driving distance (1-2hours) from Denver? I live pretty much in the center and although I've lived here 4 years, not too familiar with the surrounding landscape. Thanks and hope to meet some of you soon.

Well, you and John can laugh and snort all you want. I've picked up a poltergeist in my garage so I will be bringing it along to pass on to one of you, I just haven't decided which of you yet...

Yep. We won't let you do anything you can't handle. Everyone is pretty good at letting you know what to expect.
Ask away if you ever feel the need.
This particular run is a great way to get involved. Doug does a great job of setting up end for all sizes of rigs and all experience levels. You'll find that there is something for everyone here.
Most trails that we post here are within a couple of hours from Denver.

This is what this is for. For any one to come out and enjoy an outing with fellow Jeepers. Buena Vista is 2 hours form the Denver area. All the trails with the exception of Holy Cross are within 20 miles or less from Buena Vista. Pick one of the easy ones and then enjoy the ride. Eventually you will catch something and your pockets will empty. But it is all fun. This is a 2 day event so if you can do both days you just might have fun
