Old Fall River Road, which is in RMNP and connects to Trail Ridge is just a dirt road. Two wheel drive cars do it all day, so yes it is fine for beginners. I haven't run Pole Hill yet, but I know that it is more of a challenge than Fall River. I'm sure others with experience can chime in on Pole Hill.

If you are in that area, I might go check out storm mountain. Not too intense, but very rocky and fun at the start.

Pole Hill can be done easily in a stock Jeep. It's a fun trail.
