Opinions, tranny or t case seal failure (pics)

Tj, 4.0' ax-15.

Doesn't drop at all, seems to only leak when driving....noticed it started on or after the last Moab trip...

Mine is doing the same thing, it's a bit older though. 90' YJ. So I'm interested to hear what's going on also.

It is not uncommon for the seal(s) between the t-case and tranny to leak.

To me it looks like the drain plug is leaking. Is there anything on the other side? If it is anything It could be the seal between the T-case and the tranny. Pain in the aspen but not impossible. I just finished doing a whole AX 15 rebuild and there are only 2 seals. one on the input side and one output side. There is also a plate in the center of the tranny that is sealed with sealant.

That sounds promising. It is definitely wet around that plug. The entire bottom section is wet, however it could be simply from runn out of the plug and collecting in the seam. Hopefully I will be that lucky. With my shoulder being injured recently, I don't have the strength to drop the t case...

Well, from where it's leaking probably the seal between the t-case and tranny. If it's not serious I'd say ignore it, but keep an eye on fluid levels.
