Do any of you know if they have opened Rampart Range Rd. back up since the Waldo Canyon Fire? I know they had it closed at one point to keep people from going back in that area. Just wasn't sure since Waldo Canyon is closed if they have the roads back there opened now.

Rampart road is NOT OPEN from Garden of Gods to Woodland park. Major fine if caught on it!
It is open to the north of WP...

Does anybody know why Rampart Range Road is closed 13 miles north of Woodland Park? I understand the Waldo Canyon Fire closing but why is it closed to the north?

Just curious.

Could be a real snowy section of the trail that's impassable

They close it at the gate every winter...combination of; lack of road Maintinance in winter & snow conditions...

Wow, shows you how long it has been since I have been up there. Not giving you the chance to go up there and get stuck and stranded takes all the fun and excitement out of things.

I remember burying a couple of 4x4 pickups in the snow on Rampart Range Road many years ago and then it started snowing. Friends and I had discussions as to who we would eat first.

Needless to say, lots and lots of digging and pushing got one out and then we were able to pull the second out.

Just being on here is a great place to start. Seems like there are groups going out on here almost every weekend.

What the people on here won't do. Have seen someone lend another their steering box, now another is going to share his direct tv box. Waiting to see somebody offer up to share their wife.
