Spare tire

Hey folks,

I am sure this question has been asked a million times but why not a million and one... I have 33x12.50 tires on 15 inch rims, I am getting ready to buy my spare and wanted to know if it will fit on a stock spare tire carrier on a 2009 2 door Jeep wrangler. Is there anything that I need to purchase to make it fit?

Thanks

Depends on your wheel back-set. if stock you will need an adapter.

Not sure what my back set is, the rims are the simple steel rims (mag looking).

Will the weight be a issue?

if it breaks I'm gonna get a drop down tailgate kit.

You should be fine, I have an 07 with a 33's (actually 285) on a 16 inch rim with 4.5 back space and the stock tire carrier is fine unless I back into a tree. It doesn't like that....

May be a "not so smart idea", but..... I carry a spare after my tires have worn over 50%. New tires, I won't drag a spare along.

| TeraFlex Suspensions

Teraflex website says they don't recommend anything aver a 35" be carried on the stock spare tire carrier, so you should be fine.

Mounting a 33 back there has anyone had any issues with the Brake light?

I hate the stock third brake light so I removed it as soon as I put my lift on.

I have 33's on my rig but i also have an aftermarket tire carrier. I wanna get rid of my third brake light but dont know if that is against federal policy though.
