Question Stubbie Radio Antenna

Any thoughts on using a stubbie radio antenna? Hows the reception?

Another thing to consider is if you plan on or have a CB antenna... is to use it for radio and CB combined.

I have a 3-foot CB antenna and it works great. The key is getting it tuned properly. I went to a CB shop in Johnstown to have it tuned.

I'm assuming they mean a stubby for the Jeep radio rather than CB...

I have the AntennaX stubby and love it. Just as good as stock at least in the mountains.

I just put another 13'' on like I've always done. This one didn't screw into the original hole as well as others in the past and there's a noticeable decrease in reception for even strong stations like 102.3 (espn) and 98.5 (country station) but I don't have any lose so far in Satellite.

I do have the 3' firestik for the CB. This would be for the radio.

So just get that splitter for the CB antenna and a second "trail ready" badge to replace the stock radio antenna hole when you remove it. :-)

I've got the 13" AntennaX and have noticed some drop off from the factory one in my reception in Castle Rock. Some of the Denver stations have gotten weaker, but I used to get CS stations and now a lot of them are gone. Enough to make me switch back, no. I like that the factory metal one isn't scratching my cowl anymore.

I also switched to an AntennaX stubby. I lost the Denver stations down here in the Springs, but the local stations come in just fine.

I'm interested in that CB/radio antenna setup now though.... CoreyZ, are you using this setup?

Will be soon. Now that I am hitting the trails more often I am going to add the CB setup to the Jeep.... which means also adding that splitter.

Make sure to let me know how you like it please. I'd love to get the Denver stations back if possible.

I just installed the AntennaX 13" antenna. It looks great and I can still get all the stations, even when inside the garage. No problems here.
