Thanks to Justin I am now inspired. This is an excellent trail for getting some perspective back into wheeling
While I wouldn't recommend this trail for beginners, if you think you want to try it, go for it. I can be done by a stock Jeep, except maybe the Wall, but that is optional. Here is the link to the trail description:
Hi all! Just moved to Denver (Centennial) and looking to wheel with the great weather this weekend! What time and where is the meet up? I am from florida so much more adept at sand and mud... This rock stuff is totally new to me so I may need a little hand holding to get me going. So would this be an all day bring your meals type run?
This is going to be a perfect weekend. Glad you want to come. There are four, now five coming from the denver area so watch the posts tomorrow. If they don't give clear directions I'll yell at them
Your setup will be fine at China Wall. You'd probably get bored except you're not used to rocks. No big deal with four inches of lift.
Well, since you've never found a drummer that you like I'd say meet at the trailhead at 10':00. If you want to caravan we'll meet at the McD's in WP at 9'00, head for the trailhead at 9:15.
Hook up with Hidro at the west Morrison Conoco. Times are in a post on page two. We should hook up at the trailhead about 10:00, maybe if Chad's not ramrodding you'll actually get there on time
there are 2 different route from Denver that take about the same amount of time.
1. through colorado springs/woodland park...all highway and not as scenic. or
2. which I prefer, 285 to Jefferson (tarryall road) and south. great scenery and a little more relaxing.
like Ed said 67 is out of he way.
Take 285 south. You take 67 out of Sedalia you will be going at least 50 miles out of your way. Turn south at Tarryall Road, past the reservoir and Tarryall. The entrance to China Wall will be on your left with signs marking it. Meeting there at 10:00.
I never saw any pots that said anything about food. I'd figure on brining it with you, That's how we usually do it--except for the last couple of runs,
But I'm not going so what do I know..
looks like were not going to be able to make it. gotta get that nut before i go on the trails again. if someone has one and the tools to put it on and can bring them please please please message me, id really like to make this trip
I think I'm gonna jump in late... i plan to run Longwater and /or Hacket gulches after China Wall so I will fuel in Bailey. whick means I'll just see the Denver group at the trail entrance. see you guys in the Morning.
10 AM at the trailhead correct?
good time, shake down went well. just got home. There should be no more dust on that trail, Angus had it all, washed his punk ass and the tub is a mess.
