Thanks to Justin I am now inspired. This is an excellent trail for getting some perspective back into wheeling
While I wouldn't recommend this trail for beginners, if you think you want to try it, go for it. I can be done by a stock Jeep, except maybe the Wall, but that is optional. Here is the link to the trail description:
Really liked your pictures of Hackett Chad. My favorites were the ones of you up to you arse in snow where you caught that cut. FS360 is really nasty for those. Been there a few times myself
Dan, your jeep has gone from downright spooky to downright scary. There really isn't anything besides serious hardcore that is even going to bump your limits. You basically have a trailer queen that doesn't need a trailer... Of course, that's what you were after, but where do you go when you get bored with it?
Well, when you get the 60's in that is definitely going to give you some room to push, both as a driver and builder. Your unsprung weight keeps going up and that will affect your suspension. And when you don't have to worry about twisting axle shafts (as much) that will definitely open up some possibilities. What lockers are you planning on using in the 60's?
ARBs. My unsprung weight is fairly high right now as planned. 60s will only add to that for sure. Once I have some axles that can take a little more "abuse" I can start driving it a little harder.
Way cool pix everyone, like reliving the day all over again. Did you see that bowling ball size rock I man handled? Yeah, that's right, I got more where that came from. How come inclines look smaller in pictures. I learned the importance of wheel flares in the gulch. Still cleaning the mud off my instrument cluster. I know this, a suspension lift and a rear bumper are in my near future.
