Sunday Run

A couple of us are going to run (something) tomorrow. We're mulling over Hackett Gulch or Saran Wrap & Eagle Rock. Meeting at Rudy's around 0845 and we'll decide what we want to do. Hope to see you there!

I think I would like to join you on this one. Like both of those trails. If you decide on Hackett we could also do the cutover to the lower end of Longwater, been wanting to check that out.

I'll be at Joanie's by 9:15 if you can pick me up there. I don't need a wake up call, my dogs to a fine job of that ;-)

Great run today. Good to Finally meet you Ed! Here's a few pics, videos coming! We beat the rain but Pikes Peak was white with Grabble.

Unfortunately, the National Forestry Service didn't remove this a month ago when it was still intact. Now it's an eye sore on a great trail and a potential fire hazard if lightning strikes it.

Yes, today was a really fun run, quite relaxing. Thank you John for such a good time, and I suppose I should thank Todd for always being downwind...

Yeah, that Suburban is both an eyesore and a serious fire hazard. I don't understand what the Forest Service's problem is with dealing with it. It would have been a relatively simple extraction initially but at this point it's going to be a total bitch.

Ed, isn't that the same rig we came upon and the owner was pulling the transmission out? Wonder if he decided to report it stolen and got whatever ins. Would give him.

Yeah, it's the same rig, a little worse for wear... Who knows why he abandoned it.

I run into stuff like that occasionally when I'm out wandering. Found a car one time along Rule Ridge way down in a gully. Took the vin and passed it on to the sheriff's office. They said they would check it out but that it would probably be left there, too expensive to pull. Went by there a couple weeks later and someone had clear cut a trail to drop two wreckers down there in tandem to drag it out. I don't even want to know what that was all about.

I'm glad all I find is abandoned vehicles. I've heard of people coming across other types of remains up here...

That's crazy that the suburban was still there. Pretty interesting. The people seemed nice when I talked to him.

Wow man cant believe people just leave vehicles abandoned like that. Here if its made of metal and is sitting still the metal scrappers will get it in the blink of an eye. They were taking air conditioners from people houses until they stopped letting the scrap yard take them without an AC companys release. Scrap metal is the biggest crime wave ive seen in years. People will go into your yard and take whatever they can lay hands on.
Looks like you guys had a great time. Area looked beautiful from your pics.
