Swan River Loop (bring a friend run)8-9-14

OK
So I have been promising to take my Mom on a Jeep trip this summer. Well the summer is closing in on me so I figure I better get it done. I am thinking that I don't want to get too crazy with her so the plan is to run North fork of the Swan to the top of Radical Hill then loop out the Middle Fork. Should make for a nice day of some great scenery and see some mining history as well as some wildlife.
Bring a friend, kid, parent, sig.other, or whoever you want that has been wanting to go. This will be a nice scenic mellow run for us all to enjoy.

Trailhead at @10:15 AM or the Wooly Mammoth Parking Area at the Morrison exit/I70 at 8:45

I ran Middle Swan Fork River Rd about 10 days ago. There was still snow blocking the original trail about 200 yards below the summit. Other Jeepers were going off the trail (a closed section) to get around the snow :-(

Maybe the snow is now gone. I also recommend going DOWN middle swan fork rd. Your mom may not like the steep angles as you climb a very steep section of the trail just before you get to the snow (if it's still there).

I couple of nice trails for your mom might be to start in Montezuma and start with Saints John, drive over to the top of Radical Hill to look down and across to see Webster Pass and Red Cone, then, head down North Swan Fork Rd. Show her the cabin and nice view on top of Wise Mtn on the way down.

Just a thought.

If I can somehow find a way to rack up enough break-in miles on the new gears being done this week I'll be in.

Synergy ball joints/evo gussetts/and the 4.88 gears. I should be good for now.

your 30 will be fine for upper moderate wheeling.
I have been abusing mine and haven't had any issues other than stripping the spider gears. a locker fixed that problem.
I would be more concerned about the 35 in the rear. But with the type of wheeling that you like, Your rig will be set up very well now.
