DYNATRAC PROROCK44 DANA 44 FRONT AXLE 07-C JEEP JK - $1900 (ENGLEWOOD CO)

This is what I'm trying to get guys. Anyone know where I can find the other components needed for Cheap? Also if I can pick it up since I'm not wheeling currently with a HP Dana 30 front could I go a few weeks without installing it so I can find the other components?

I have to agree with Ed on this one. Here's an idea: Take the money you want to spend on the 37's and go get a professional to look at the situation and get it solved before adding more unknowns to the mix.

If my friend and I can't solve it this week it will have to go to a pro. I pretty much have already sold my current tires. I'll find it I know I will just scared from what the one guy said above about potentially having a bent housing. That would suck. So if anyone in the Springs is free Tuesday about 11 or 12 we will be in Palmer Lake wrenching away and taking components off. It'll go much faster if we get more people. I'm calling this morning about that axle i posted, but I'll need to invest quite a bit into it from the looks of it, i.e. shafts, gears, etc.

I'm pretty sure Housing only referres to a bare axle housing, no brackets or anything. If you pick that up your going to spend a fortune having someone weeks on all new brackets.

Edit: I know thats what it refers to with spider 9 Axels anyhow. Id verify it has brackets before buying it

Dynatrac - Confidence to Explore®

I'll verify, but based on their website under standard equipment it should.

Also I ordered the Artec Truss and gusset system for my Front Dana 30 even if I do get my hands on the pro-rock if I need to wait to put it on, should I truss up the 30 or return the parts and use that towards the cost of the 44? Thanks. Also does anyone have any leads on front 44's?

I'd return the parts and put that money toward the prorock. Although I do agree with Ed that adding 37's is only going to exacerbate your current problems, I also think that if you run 37's with your current setup and don't wheel at all, only drive easy in town you'll be ok until you get the 44 in. I'm not advocating running 37's on a d30 by anyway, I just don't thing its going to explode as soon as you start to turn the 37's. Just drive like a grandma and get the 44 as soon as possible?

Talked to them about the 44 just now. He is willing to hold it for me with a deposit and has almost everything I need for $1900 including gears and inner and outer sleeves. Only thing I'll need is carrier? And ball joints really. He is calling dynatrac to make sure there is nothing that we are forgetting but if this all works out I will have it in my possession next tuesday and will probably only need to run the 37s on the 30 for a week or two before throing this in. I'm really excited and hope all yiu guys are too. Don't worry I'll still be tearing apart the front end looking for stuff but I think this could be awesome if it all works out.

That's awesome Chris. You should be pretty set then. Like I said, just drive like an old lady and probably drive it as little as possible.

In the future I'm looking at some big changes to my rig as well. Phase1: will be to swap long arms for short arms (finished grinding off old stock brackets yesterday), swap Teraflex 4" coils for OME 2", Rokmen High line fenders. Phase 2: prorock 44 front, d60 rear, 38's, bead-lock wheels.

The other morning I spent the better part of an hour and a half down at Rokmen talking to Jeff figuring my build out. I'm tired of being so tall and tippy and really feel a LOCG rig is the way to go.

Ya buddy! I'm thinking once I sort everything out of going to a Teraflex 4 inch flexarm kit, was gonna buy it like in 3 weeks, but since this axle turned up I will need to wait like 3 more months. Eventually I will have to 1 ton my rear, but that should be a long ways down the road.
My friend John said my Jeep will die a thousand deaths because no Jeep is allowed to be cooler then his. lol.
Sad to see you go short arm, but I understand. Would those 4 inch coils fit mine? If so I'd buy them off you haha.

I don't know if they will or not. I can do some research, but my initial guess would be no. I'll let you know.

I love the long arm kit, I just don't like how high you have to be to have it. It has amazing flex, just not digging the height on off camber and steep terrain.

Ultimately I'd love to be able to go with spider 9 fronts and rear, stretch it and run 40's, but that is more than likely just a dream lol.

a few words - chevy 1-ton steering conversion with a wj knuckle swap, brake/caliper upgrade, etc - if your moving up to those 37s. make sure you know when doing you'll need spacers with 15" wheels if you top mount the tie rod ends like they should be. if you can weld or have a good fabricator it's a easy change out. wouldn't change it for the world on mine. just make sure you allot for caster/camber, long arm kits help or at least have adjustable control arms happy building

http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...g/XOGMSTE.html
with the off-set tre's and high angle drag link ends
I have the complete parts list if anyone needs on what we just finished up on mine

just a suggestion. eliminates the "y" link on your drag link and tie rod and beefies things up a bit.

go either eaton "e" locker or just go arb and be done. spend the money once. If you are going to go 1 ton in the rear eventually I would just go ARB and get it all set up from the get go.

North ridge 4x4 usually has the best deals once you factor no shipping charge

K so new little tidbit in the fun and games apparently the carrier on this prorock will accept an OX Locker I am calling them today. I spoke to dynatrac today and that was their suggestion.

Chris, your 3.73 did okay with 35s here in Colorado? Heck, that is one reason I have not gone to 35s on my auto 4.10 (2012) yet.

Ya. Does fine. You can tell you lost power but pedal to the metal still works. Plus now that I have my Aev Procal it knows to shift more efficiently saving fuel and regaining power.

buddy is currently running 37s on a stock 30 front axle. He wheels the shit out of it and no problems yet. But yes, its bound to happen. But you go look over on JKforum and there are tons of guys who have been running this set up for a while. So I say run it. As long as your saving up in the mean time for a better front axle.

Also the shimmy on my jeep was caused by my tires being worn uneven.

Edit- oops should have read this thread all the way though!

Well The axle I'm getting will be largely completely disassembled, so I will need to run wires, which I'm guessing will be easy give it's made for it, and need to install shafts, gears, lockers, ball joints. All of it looks pretty straight forward just don't know how hard it will be.
