Pop your hood and take a picture of the top of the shock shaft where it is sticking into the engine compartment. Post it and we'll try to figure out what happened from that.

To me it looks like you are gonna need just a new shock. The rubber bushing is missing from it. If the nut is still on you might be able to get the rubber bushing from another and put it back on. I think the rubber bushing should be under that bracket in the pic.

Definately. Even the top of the shock tower would help.

What I am wondering is what in the hell happened to the steel washers that hold the bushings together.

Actually, what in the hell happened to everything? There are an awful lot of pieces missing...

I should have enough spare odds and ends to put it back together again if the threads and shock tower are ok...

How about I buy new shocks for the front and provide the party favors for you helping teach me to install them Ed?

Top of the hoop on the left of the pic. Where the shock went through. Check inside of the black boot to see it the parts are in there.

Washers, grommets, bushings are all smaller in diameter than the shaft. If the shaft punched through everything it is going to be a mess. Hell it is a mess, period.

New shocks at this point would be a good idea. Get some Teraflex shocks from predator. they are excellent. Your lift is between three and four inches so that will be the size you need. Need to see a pic of the top of the shock tower, if that's blown you will need reconstruction before you can do the shocks.

No party favors. Dinner at the Black Forest, steak of my choice...

No kidding... If that hoop is blown, big, big mess. Tell you what, if it is blown, you can fix it. I don't think the steak of my choice is going to be worth it.

Aw heck, if it broke through it can be welded up, squirted with a little paint and ready to roll in no time.

Yup! It's broke ah-ight!

Could be worse, so just think of it as a "spontaneous upgrade"

Old Guy - I won't be far away forever, whereabouts are you?
