Trektop NX

Any locals have some experience with the Trektop NX? Ive got the hardtop now and was thinking of putting out a trade for one+cash and was wondering how well it held up to the winters out here.

Hello,
I could not determine where "out here" is. I recently went from a hard top to a trektop nx, just like you are planning. I live down South though, in Alabama. Snow is a very rare thing here. I haven't been through a winter with mine yet, so I can't really testify to the performance of the top in cold weather. One thing I would advise though, is wait until it is very hot before you attempt to install the top. The directions say wait until it is over 72 degrees. I pulled the zipper seam loose trying to install mine in 80 degree weather. Had to get a warranty replacement for the section that had the seam come loose. It is a real booger to get that thing stretched out the first time you install it.

I've got the Rampage top. Not exactly the same, but frameless nonetheless. It is impossible to get completely on when it is cold. Back when the temp was fluctuating between 60 degrees and snowing, I made the mistake of not putting it on before the snow came in. I couldn't completely close it off in the back. Once the temp came back up, I was able to adjust it. I think the NX would be similar.

I just sold my hard top and got a used Trektop off Craigslist and the guy showed me how to put it on.

I don't see it having issues holding up to winter but it's hard to say now since I've only had it a week. It seems almost identical to a OEM soft top just without the frame.

We did the same thing. Its not held up as well as i expected. We moved out to pa and it did well in the winter. Looking back i wish we just waited and put money aside and bought on and kept the hard top. Seams are breaking, the quick connect pin on passenger side just snapped while driving in the highway with the front let back. bestop is being very helpful with the warranty though. oh another thing.. It dosent line up with the tail gate as a o.e soft top so water likes to find its way in durring rain. Parking on a incline with the rear facing down helps.

I have one, put it on in March. Seems to be holding up well. Been through several snow storms this spring without any issues. If you get one new, you absolutely need to put it on during a hot sunny day to get it to stretch out properly.

On a side note, I did keep my hard top and plan to swap back over for next winter as I don't think the top will survive too many winters.

It's a great top (but I've only had it on about 3 weeks). And all the windows zip out pretty fast so you can run just the safari top which is cool.

I was also thinking of selling my hard top and just running this year round.

And yes... it's a pain to install the first time!
