It looks like we are out for the camping part of this run. We will still be there at 10 for the run itself. We need to get the Transmission back in the J10 so we are doing that Sunday.
See all ya'll there!!
WooT Love this trail!

For those of you wanting to see the moon, I just saw this. You might all find it neat. Not sure if it's true or not

Oh, as far as I am concerned, it's dead on. Where you really want to be for this is northern California. Yeah, the high tide is awesome, but the flip side is the low tide. You can get further out into the rocks than any other time and the tide pools are incredible! I've spent entire days out there just wandering around in the rocks and looking at all the amazing stuff in the tide pools.

Oh, yeah, there is an emotional roller coaster as well. After all we have the same basic composition as the earth, eighty per cent water. So the moon pulls us just like the tides. Now if there were a major conjunction at the same time stand back. My ghost hunting friends love these, the little buggers are crawling out of the walls...

Last year in Hawaii the tide change happened when I was on a sand bar. When we got out there is was only about 4 feet deep. Within 20 mins in went from 4 ft to about 15

Yeah, you really have to pay attention to the tide shift. Say you're half a mile out or more on a serious negative tide. If you're there at the shift you're going to be swimming back, that is if you're lucky...

Yea we about 10 miles from shore but only a good 1/4 from the boat. So it wasn't to bad of the swim back. It really came out of no where though. I'm glad the boat was that close

Reefs are tricky, fine when you're on them, once you're off you are tossed around like a leaf in a windstorm.

If you're just playing in rocks it's not so bad. It's flat enough that you're not going to get nailed by serious undertow. But yeah, it is a definite WTF sort of thing...

I'm thinking of joining this run. I'm still kind of a novice when it comes tackling a trail like this. I've got a 2012 Rubicon with 3" lift and 35" tires. Will my rig (and myself ) be able to attempt this? This is also my daily driver. Thanks

You will be fine. Plus if you have any questions or concerns there will be a lot of knowledgable people on this run.
