US Warriors Outdoors Fun Run

Hey everyone, I'm playing in a charity poker tournament today and one of the sponsors is US Warriors Outdoors.

It is similar to Wounded Warrior Project. Their goal is to help wounded vets get out in the great outdoors hunting, fishing, etc.

I told him I would ask the forum here to see if there was enough interest to run a trail(s) for some of these wounded vets. Looking for open right front seats for one day. He was saying June/July works the best for them. We'll firm dates if there is enough interest.

If this is something you would be interested in, please reply and I'll take it from there if there's enough interest.

Thanks!

Wow! Awesome response for a one day old post!

I will contact the coordinator and see what we need to do to start getting this set up so everyone can fully plan and commit.

He said they usually take out 2-6 people at a time so with this much interest, I might see if we can have a Northern, Metro, and a Southern contingent. If not, no biggie, we'll still have plenty of fun.

Since I used this post just as a feeler for interest, be on the lookout for a new "official" thread in the near future with more details.

Thanks everyone!

PS Took 5th place for $440 whoop whoop

We would love to be a part of this. As vets ourselves we know some of the sacrifices a family and individual can be asked of in the line of duty. We were blessed to not have to experience the incredible sacrifices and hardships of these men and women.
What a great post and idea.

You mentioned doing it possibly in June or July. I'd suggest planning it in July, August or September when you can be confident the trails will be open. If they want to go fishing, Wheeler lake would be a good spot to take them. Decent history with the mining stuff, a nice well stocked lake, great views and some interesting technical driving on the way.

Wheeler Lake was at the top of my list! I agree that toward late July would be better for some of the trails. I sent an email to them last night and already have a response back so more info to come soon!

All,

There is now a new "official" thread on this fun run in the CO section. Check it out!

Please do not reply to THIS thread so it will drop off and people won't get confused.

Thanks!
