According to google, I live exactly 1,100 miles from Grant, and my town sits at about 600 feet MSL. Since Red Cone is going to be the the first Colorado trail I ever run, I must be totally nuts.

I'm sad that I didn't do any trails in Colorado when I passed through last year going to Moab. I'm going to make up for it this year though.

Plus, Chester over on CO4x4 did Red Cone last weekend in an XJcar on 29s. So I figure it's just a Mind over Matter situation. My rig is over qualified.

Unless my new brake line gets here I won't be able to run with y'all tomorrow, very pissed about this, but quadratec is sending another for free.

Chad you need to do something crazy to your jeep. I saw one exactly like it minus the hood decals today in the springs

Picked up an extended safari top and windshield channel for almost 70% off normal price at the jeep fest. Mostly due to an advertising error but im ok with that!!!! No more riding in the rain for this guy.

They had it priced wrong. It should have been priced $74 but instead they had it $44. The header channel should have been $49 but was priced $29 and with my 10% mil discount. Id say I made out pretty good.

I'd say right at the trailhead. Just park on the dirt road as you pull off 285.

Well, the shortest route would be to go out 24 to Lake George, then take Tarryall road like we were going to China Wall. Keep going till you get to Jefferson at the intersection of 285. Grant is only a few miles west of Jefferson. I think if you allow 2 hours you should be fine.

I really need to keep an eye on Doug till we get to the trailhead so he doesn't do any thing crazy. Once we get there I know he's going to do something crazy but that's ok

Well, you know Dude, other than dizzying heights, sheer drops off the shelf road and incredibly steep drops coming down it's really not at all a bad trail. Especially if you take Dramamine a half hour before you start the trail...
