Webster Pass, Sunday 7/8/12

Johnwbs' idea, and I think it's a great idea. So this coming Sunday, any and all welcome. Post up if you want to go and we'll sort out the details from there

We did Red Cone and Webster today. Red Cone is for high clearance only.......alot of big rocks etc going up threw the timber. My Jeep would probably have trouble. I was in our high clearance rubicon. Webster is fairly easy just narrow at the top. Remember red cone is one way so make sure you can go all the way. Have fun and good luck.

Visibility was very limited........personally I'd wait and reschedule after the smoke clears. It was really thick on top of red cone and couldn't hardly see anything.

I did Webster in a stock Jeep Liberty. Red Cone is a different matter.

Easy, Denny, this is for Webster only, not Red Cone. Hell, I'm in no shape mentally to tackle that sob. I just want to get out and do an easy run, nothing tricky.

Yeah, and I figure on the way back to take the northern cross trail out of BV. Nothing tough, just a fun day of easy trails...

In fact I think I might pop the 35's and do the run on my 32's... 35's seem like overkill and I miss my Coopers

No, we'll be fine, Mike. Denny's talking about Red Cone, a different trail and seriously nasty. We're not doing that. We'll just be doing Webster Pass which is a relatively easy trail. You won't have any problem with it even if no one has a winch...

Could be back any time between four and six. It's basically a loop from here to Leadville to BV and back. The main trail will be Webster Pass, the north cross trail in Fourmile is just more fun than coming back around on the highway.

Ed... another trail I do from Webster/Keystone...go to Breckenridge....do the pass back to Como....or another is Mission Creek. Como is easy...nice views. Mission creek a little harder but not bad. Views outstanding. Have fun!

Those all sound like a lot of fun Denny. Hopefully I'll get to try some of them this summer.

As far as Webster Pass tomorrow I'm scratching it. There's no interest so screw it.

I have a ton of stuff that I'm trying to get finished up so I can get it to the welder the first part of the week, so I'm just going to stay on that tomorrow. Right now I'm more in the mood to build stuff for my Jeep than wheel.

I'm heading up to Wyoming end of the month and I will be getting more than my fill of wheeling then.
