Are you guys planning to do any of the organized/sanctioned runs? I was thinking I would for one day than wheel unspoken for trails the rest of the trip...

We were thinking about doing one that wasn't a crazy one and have my Fiancé drive. She really wants to wheel moab as well.

Yeah I'm not much for running in organized fashion. I'm gonna just do some trails and decide that after I figure out where and when the big groups are.

Awesome first ejs for me. I've also only driven past on i70 on the way to vegas. Seen countless pictures and videos and am getting pumped.

Cool. I'd rather wheel with you guys anyway. No lines will be way more fun.

You get a raffle ticket/entrance to the trade show with for each paid run you do.... If i do the organized stuff it will be for that purpose and for one day only. Then pick through the crowds and run some fun stuff

From what I read the vendor show is on Thursday and Friday of the event week. I'll be headed home Wednesdays afternoon so I dont have a need for a ticket.

I also presume the trade show is free but the runs equal a raffle ticket...

Thats what I read on their site. I understand that going on a scheduled run really just gets you a raffle ticket. And guided tours.

In reality I'd just do it to say I did.... Never done an organized event like it. (Sort of did Gianni's set them free event at carnage)

I'm debating which trail to run with the event. I want something challenging enough that will be fun to watch, but not a complete sh*t show...

Chad, thinking about joining you and Justin for the 11th through the 13th. I just checked the KOA site and it looks like there are still spots for tents. Is there a specific area you're staying in? I've never been to Moab so not sure what the camping situation is like. I have one flat lander buddy from Michigan joining me.

I guess from what they told me they issue youe actual site when you arrive. so if we roll in together we probably stand a good chance getting spots close to each other.

Ouch! KOA charges for additional vehicles/trailers.... 10.00 each per day... I might have to see if I can park mine at a friends house in town..... even a tent site I'd be at 60.00 per day with my dog and vehicles!

This is what I'm considering, last couple weeks of April

We went the very last weekend last year then stayed behind for a week. Worked pretty well, but part of the fun at this event is the town stuff. All the vendors and B/A rigs to walk around. we missed some of that.
plus my plan is to go in a 3-6 rig group and some trails where the bigger crowds aren't. It's a big place. There's still fun to be had and you can avoid most of the big groups.

I might do that Chad, I have no set schedule except to have a couple weeks off, so I could pick up the last few days of the event and then also have time afterwards in Moab area without the extra traffic. Like last time I'm going to tent camp somewhere or maybe even get a roof top tent setup.
