If you want to drive up North there is Hardware Ranch road by Hyrum and there are several good trails heading south out of Brigham City/Mantua. There is also Farmington Canyon and Skyline drive in Bountiful.

I was thinking about sending out an invite for next weekend (25th-26th) for a breakfast meet and greet in Brigham and then a run up Willard Peak trail if you want to run up there next weekend.

Welcome to Utah, I'm sure you will have a lot of fund in the Canyon's. There is a lot to do and the great thing is that its not very far to drive. Great Times, enjoy!

Sandy is nice. I would suggest living East of the Freeway wherever you end up, unless it's West or South Jordan, those places are nice too (when you find the right part of them)

Right now I'm living in South Jordan but wound up getting a house on the south end of Lehi just to be closer to work moving in on the 7th. The drive from south jordan to work in Lehi every day is killing me. At various times in the day I can be spotted on the 15 in the far right lane hating my life as everyone else blows past me at 90mph.

Today I checked out snowbird. Tomorrow... Who knows?

20 miles up hill both ways adds up... Fast. I desperately need a commuter car but since I haven't received my relocation bonus yet, my moving expenses, body work, and furniture to fill up a 3 bedroom house vice studio apt has depleted my rainy day fund rather quickly. I'm not sure if I'm gonna make it to Moab this summer like I had originally planned. I still need to dump about $1500 into my Jeep before I begin to plan that trip.

What did you get a ticket for? You really gotta learn the tricks of the trade. I've been stopped 13 times and only have a seatbelt violation. Knock on wood.

speeding apparently.... it was on new years eve.. I was off interstate on some shortcut that i didn't see a single car for 3 hours of driving. so I gave it a little gas, and suddenly this cop came out of nowhere stick right up my ass..he showed me the speed gun that said I was going at 98 on a 65 highway.. so aint no tricks to pull that off.. lol.

So since I've been here I've had a couple Jeepers approach me and ask how I got around safety inspection... I simply point to my license plate. However I've spoken to a few who have cut my Jeep down in safety violations. No mud flaps, stock flares, my stinger is too narrow, on top of the fact one of my mini cats is bad so I have to swap the entire down pipe and find the vapor leak in my fuel system.

As I get more paranoid about inspection because all of that shit adds up to about $1000 I would rather spend on other stuff like a new washer and dryer, I see other Jeeps with stuff like flat fenders that don't cover their tires and no mud flaps and custom bumpers, how the hell do those guys meet code? I plan on taking care of the emissions stuff but I really don't want to spend 3-400 on stupid looking wide flares or mud flaps. Help. Anyone?

First off, Welcome to Utah! I live just over the hills to the north of Lehi in Herriman.

Second, good luck skirting the inspection stuff unless you have a friend that runs an inspection shop. I bought my Jeep two weeks ago and the 33x12.50x15 tires have me putting on some Bushwacker flares and some mudflaps tomorrow so I can get it through inspection. Sucks, but I don't want to return it to being stock or close to it.

There was a set of flares on KSL.com in the classified section......Here is the link: Classifieds for Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming | ksl.com

Only $200. Call 'em. I just spent $400 for the same ones.

Haha i literally just installed 6" oe style flares yesterday and they seem to fit the width and backspacing just about perfect. a little awkward looking at some angles though. Ordered them from quadratec for $170. Also installed the 3rd brake light. Next up is the emissions stuff
