Is anyone up for a run to Rattlesnake next Sunday? A few of us are thinking about meeting for breakfast in Sandy or Saratoga Springs and then heading out to Rattlesnake after.

It's out by 5 mile so west of Saratoga Springs. I won't be able to make it tomorrow since my left front axle seal decided to leak some serious diff fluid a few days ago. I am planning to have it fixed within the next few days so hopefully we can run out there next weekend. It should be deserted next weekend since EJS will be going on.

So how does meeting at Kneaders on Redwood Road in Saratoga Springs at 9:00 AM next Saturday sound? It is a few blocks North of the Chevron that we met at last time. We will eat breakfast and then head out to 5 mile/Rattlesnake.

I'm not sure. My wife will still be out of town so I have time. I get off work in south SLC at 5-6pm so I'm free after that.

Whereabouts in Utah are you moving to?

Mike.

We are thinking about running up Sunday morning (26th) to Brigham City and eating breakfast at Bert's Cafe and then running up Willard Peak trail starting in Mantua. Is anyone around this weekend and interested in meeting up?

Hi,
Finally making to move out to Utah full time. I need to get 2 Jeeps, 1 U-haul with my beater pick up in tow.
I was looking to avoid the way I went last time when we drove a U haul trailer out to our vacation home. Wasn't bad from Fl up to Nashville, but all the hills in Missouri and the high winds in Nebraska and Wyoming plus going over the Rockies in Wyoming mad for a tiring trip.
This time I was thinking of taking I-40 across through Birmingham, Oklahoma City and then come up 191 through Moab then the usual route to I 15 up to Ogden.
Has anyone had experience driving I 40? Or have any other route suggestions?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

We have made the trip from Kansas across Nebraska and Wyoming (I80) and it wasn't too bad but like you mentioned you do get the winds and the Wyoming mountains. We also made the trip across Kansas and Colorado (I70) and besides the elevation changes it was a good road trip. The trip from Moab to Ogden isn't bad at all, we just went that route today coming back from Colorado. I have also driven across 40 but only from Oklahoma to New Mexico and it was flat and boring but that might be a good thing compared to the other routes.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to try the I-40 route. We'll have a 17 foot Penske truck with my 1993 pick up on a trailer and the wife will be driving her Jeep Commander.
I'll fly back to Florida and drive my Wrangler out a week or two later.
Hope to wheel with some of you all in the future.
Thanks again.

It depends on the trail

Forrest lake is a cake walk, I've done it several times in my stock YJ.

Mary Ellen gulch is easy a stock rig can do that also.

Mineral basin. Ive run on 31's with a rear locker 2 years ago. I am sure it's changed some since then. I know Jeepforum has a group of 20 rigs going up on sat the 26th.
