Sounds good. Deep Cherry Red Rubicon. Is there a parking lot or something where you'll be?

My winch was stolen 3 days ago. They also stole the winch mounting plate and KC fog lights attached to it. They just cut the all electrical lines for the winch and fog lights and left them hanging. They tampered with the hi-lift jack and couldn't figure out how to get through the zip ties.
I hope insurance can help me recover these things and may they burn in hell. Anyone had this happen to them?

That sucks. I am afraid I would end up in jail if I caught someone screwing with my shit. I think I would beat them within an inch of their life and then go a half inch further.

Bottom line is too many people don't respect their own stuff anymore, how can we expect them to respect anyone elses.

I hope you are able to get the winch/lights replaced through the insurance. Keep us posted.

Mike.

That sucks. My girlfriends explorer just got broken into sitting in our driveway. They took about $1000 in audio and $300 in softball gear.

It gets me thinking how hard it is to find decent people these days. It is funny though how a simple common interest (such as jeeping) will bring people together.

Cheers to all you decent Jeepers!

And Sixti, best of luck with the insurance company, I hope they replace it. Keep us updated.

Keep an eye on KSL.com they may show up on there. That's how I got my GPS back when it was stolen. Had the cops waiting when he tried to sell it back to me. What make and model winch? Where you at?

I think I would do the same if I caught someone screwing with my stuff. This guy was so dumb he couldnt cut through zip ties so he left my high lift jack just hanging there.
Well, thanks. I'll let you know that happens.

Sorry about the items stolen from your girlfriends ride.
Also, thanks. I sure hope insurance replaces all of it.

I have been keeping an eye on ksl.com. The winch mount could be sold whole but I wonder how they'll manage to sell the winch and the lights coz they just cut the wires and left them hanging there. I don't know if anyone would buy a winch in that condition, especially without the remote. Its a 10,000LB winch that has only been used to rescue other stuck people. I hope Karma bites them hard where it hurts most.
I'm in Salt Lake close to downtown, just moved here from Provo and the security situation here is very different. I would leave my jeep topless all Summer long in Provo and nobody would tamper with it but I have to put the top back on every time I take it off here in SLC coz this place is crazy and I'm not parked in a secure garage. My wife gets the safe spot.
Hmmm.... Its been 4 years since I bought it and can't remember what brand it is... I think its a smittybuilt. It doesn't have a remote and the cables were roughly cut so if anyone sees it please give me a heads up.

Thank you al for the concern.

And what do you know, I just got broken into again.

The gf's explorer again. This time they didnt even take anything, just threw a fu&$%#@ rock through the window and broke both rear windows.

Honestly tonight is my final breaking point. Ive had my cars broken into 7 times in the last four years. If I see a Mexican within a hundred feet of my property he'll be greeting with my smiling face and the muzzle of my H&K .45.

I'm pissed.

I hate living in West Valley. Needless to say, we are now officially house hunting.

Sorry to hear that, it seems to be a trend right now in the Salt Lake area.

I just got back from my road journey last night to find out 50 cars were broken into near my condo in Midvale, as well as a few cars in my neighborhood. Lucky me they didnt break into my truck on the street. It hasn't even moved in 5 weeks. They did howver take my spare that was a 5 lug out of my bed which works good for me because I have an 8 lug Dana 60 & 80.

I'd go, but I'm having shoulder surgery tomorrow and I doubt I'll feel like bouncing around in the jeep for a while

I was just Beuna Vista, Colorado for a few weeks. Fun times out there.

Blackbelly, what shoulder are you having surgery on? Labrum, biceps tendon or rotator cuff? Let me know if they give you an ice machine thing for it, it will help so much. If they don't I have one laying around you can have. The thing works wonders. Oh and life is going to suck it wont really hurt until a few days later. Are you getting a nerve block?

Torn rotator cuff and ruptured bicep tendon. Yeah I think I'll get the block I hear it helps. Don't know about the ice machine, guess I'll find out in the morning.

So sorry to here about the injury. My father in law did the same back in march and just went back to work on light duty about a month ago. Make sure you ask for the ice box, it'll do you wonders.

Anthony, are you only going to run the soft top year-round then?

Are you looking for any specific soft top, OEM or Bestop?

Mike.

We were thinking about going down to AF canyon and Mineral Basin either Sunday or Monday. What day are you planning on going?

I haven't been to the places either. Does anyone else want to go to Mineral Basin tomorrow as a guide? Or is anyone heading out somewhere else?

It is in AF canyon I think. On the map it looks like it is close to Snowbird.
