Hey Utah!!, My 2000 won't start please help its been over a week and I have replaced the starter and the battery is good. And still nothing!.. Just to clarify, the key turns all the way over but no clicking and no engine noise. The exterior lights work as well as the dome light and the ac?.. But do dash lights and no radio.

I don't know if this will help but I had something similar in my Dodge pickup. It was actually my terminal connectors that attached my wires to the battery. Who would of thought, they werent even corroded, worth a shot they are fairly cheap at autozone. Did you check all of your fuses as well?

Just to clarify, you say your "key turns all the way over', what exactly do you mean? Do you mean tt turns 360 degrees in the column? If that is the case you have either a lock and tumbler assembly issue or the rod that pushes on the start switch is missing/broken.

If you turn the key to start and your dash lights go dim but the starter does not engage then you have a connection problem with either the positive battery lead or the ground lead. It could also be a bad grounding strap between the frame/chassis and the body. If there is no change in dash lights when trying to start then your starter circuit is not being engaged by a connection or possibly a fuse or fuseable link, power not getting to the starter solenoid.

We are heading down there for a few days at the end of September but I might be able to do a quick trip a few weeks later.

Cool. The wife and I would love to meet up with a few fellow Wranglerforum members and do a few trails.

I just made our reservations a few days ago @ Portal RV Resort and thought I would throw it up on the forum and see if anyone was interested in joining us for a few trails/runs. I decided to make my reservations a little earlier than last year. We went UEA weekend last year and it was busy as hell. For the four years previous to last year we went Halloween weekend and had the entire town and trails to ourselves, it was like a ghost town.

UEA weekend is going to be busy. I live and work down here in Moab and we are just about sold out for the weekend. Portal RV is a great place. A friend of mine owns it. I can probably run a trail on Saturday of UEA weekend.

Great! As we get closer we will try to get a couple more people and maybe agree on a meeting time/place and exchange some contact information.

I was thinking I have never run Poison Spider Mesa and have heard it is very similar in difficulty to Hell's Revenge (which happens to be my new favorite).

I had a co-worker tell me to run Golden Spike, Pritchett Canyon or Behind the Rocks. He said my Jeep would do them fine, but I have been watching a few youtube videos on those trails and I am not going to beat the hell out of my Jeep like that, so those are not on my "to do" list. This guy's Jeep (YJ) is pretty beat up and there isn't a straight panel on it so I am not going to take his advise. I think him and I have a completely different idea or vision of off-roading.

I like doing some technical trails but not ones where body damage is highly likely. So far we have done many of the easy and moderate trails over the past several years but over the past two years we have been stepping up to some more moderate and difficult.

The more technical trails that we have done and quite enjoyed have been:
Top of the World
Hell's Revenge (my new favorite)
Fins & Things

Sounds great. Sadly I have never run Hells Revenge. My wife won't let go on it until I have a trail buddy to go with the first time. I usually go to Fins n Things when I'm short on time. I am still very new to Jeeping so I haven't done many of the difficult trails.

You will love Hell's Revenge. Like I mentioned it is now our favorite.

We were the same way I wanted to try it for several years but the wife and I didn't feel comfortable going on it alone and every time we mentioned to a few friends we were going to Moab they were up for it until it came time to confirm and make reservations, then they backed out.

Last year we went to an RV rally and went with a group on Hell's Revenge and had a ball. We had since done it twice more by ourselves. It is not as intimidating to go by ourselves now that I have been on it but any trail is funner with a few more rigs and people.

I have also been looking at doing Moab Rim, that looks like it might be a fun one.

Mike.

We made our reservations this morning for the 19th & 20th. The wife and I are staying at Archview resort again since we have stayed there a few times now. It sounds like it is going to be a fun trip and a good chance to meet everyone.

Great. As we get nearer we will do some information swapping and decide what trails we want to run and when and where to meet up for a run or two (or three, four)

Mike.

P.S. Is Archview the one about six or eight miles north of town? I think Archview Campground is there but never noticed if there is more there than the campground and a fuel station. Are you staying in an RV or hotel/motel?

Sounds good.

Yeah it is the campground that is north of town and all by itself. Not sure how "resort" is applicable but that is what they call it. We will be staying in our trailer. We picked up an Evolution popup a few months ago that we can pull with the jeep. Last time we stayed at the campground we rented one of their cabins which was pretty decent.

I'm game, it's just hard to find spare time for anything with work and family. But anytime I can get away I'll try to give a hand ect.
