Question 4X4 shop

Does anyone know of a good 4x4 shop around the Portland area? I need a new rear axle and want to either upgrade to d44 or preferably swap to a ford 8.8. So if anyone knows of a shop that has experience in the 8.8 swap, that would be awesome.

Find a experienced mechanic that wants to make a little extra cash on the side and have them do it. you will be raped at a shop for a full swap like this

Are you looking West side or east side?

On the west side I would recommend AccessoryOutfitters ::

They just totally upgraded axles and installed lockers and all the goodies in my husbands 91 YJ

I would talk to R&P in Oregon City. They will tell you exactly what you need.

I used to go to Robs Offroad and would have Dave who worked there work on my jeep. He was the only person I trusted to work on it but now he no longer works there so I am also in need of a new shop :/

Contact R&P! Rich and Paul are the best, hands down! They won't build it or sell it if they don't think it'll last or be correct for your application. I've been runnin a FF 35 spline D60 with disk conversion in the rear and a HP D44 front end in the front of my YJ with 37" SX's for over 8 years. These diffs have surpassed my expectations and the knowledge both Rich and Paul pass on every time I stop by is priceless! Go with R&P you won't be sorry!

My Jeep is there right now. I miss it; at least it is in good hands.

Just somethin to check out if your lookin to swap 8.8 in. From WF home page, not oregon, drop down to TJ jeep forums & then a few posts down is a very informative 8.8 info post & has some recomendations for where to get one already done ready to go in etc. Honestly I just pulled my destroyed 35 out & pieced together 2 parts rearends & got it back in the rig in an afternoon. Building the rearend is not to be tried unless you have right tools experience etc but the bolt in & out is easy. You gotta start somewhere learnin & better in your garage then on the trail if it breaks!! You can do it!!
