Does anyone around here actually wheel ? Or is it just drives to the coast and playing in a mud puddle ?

Yeah i agree, thats what i did this last browns camp run. Browns camp is about 30 miles east of tillamook in the Tillamook state forest area. Alot of us wheel, if you going the NW Oregon SW Washinton group on FB youd see lots of pictuers of us all getting muddy. There just happens to be alot of Jepp meet n greats so we can all get to know eachother and learn from eachother. Theres a few Browns trips planned just keep watchin for it bro.

I'm new around here...what do you guys do on the runs? Are they rated in difficulty? Can I just go and watch the first time?

Just got back from 7 days in Moab. Tillamook State Forest has many trails with many difficulty ratings. Basically it is there or somewhere in Bend area - Edison or Santian Pass for wheeling opportunities.

Yes, the Oregon Class II trails are rated both by color and by the line symbol's curvature or sharpness. A "green" trail is suitable for novice drivers and stock 4wd vehicles. A "blue" trail is more challenging and is suitable for drivers with some degree of 4wd experience. In my experience, stock wranglers are able to transverse most, if not all of the "blue" trails in TSF. Black trails are generally for vehicles with a limited degree of modification, either to suspension, tire diameter, or drivetrain/axle. Experience, whether it be the driver or spotter, is preferred for black trails. I've seen stock wranglers go through black trails such as firebreak 5, due to driver skill (or unfortunately - skinny pedal).

The next degrees of difficulty are the double and triple black trails. These trails are usually ran by trailered rigs. Locked differentials and winches are the norm for these type of trails.
