Bend OR area question

A possible employment opportunity may lead towards Bend, Or. Just curious about any feedback on the area?

Thanks

Bend is awesome! Great beer brewed in Bend. I would be living there if it wasn't for my wife (her family's in the PDX area).

Do it...I would love to live there.

You like skiing or snowboarding? Mt Bachelor is a stones throw away. Spent my honeymoon there at The Inn of the Seventh Mountain.

Bend is absolutely beautiful. Surrounded by pine forests, beautiful scenery, great outdoors activities, lots of shopping, decent housing prices and so on.
If I could find a job there that pays anywhere near what I make here, I'd move there in a heart beat.
It was one of my favorite places to stop when I was running long haul.

Hot in the summer, COLD in the winter. I haven't spent much time there. Used to deliver pressure treated wood products over there when I drove truck. I here it's a great area though. One of our salesmen moved over there to work for Merrill Lynch.

So? Decision made?
I have lived in the area on and off for about 15 years. Depends on what you like! Outdoors?
Housing prices have recently come down, won't be that way for long. This area has blown up over the last 5 years.
Definitely not the big city if thats what you like tho Portland is only 2.5 to 3 hours away.
