I am the proud new owner of a 2010 jku rubicon. I have never been to browns camp and was hoping to have some company. In fact, I will not go alone. I was hoping to meet up on the 21st or 22nd for a total beginners run. Doesn't even need to be a full day, just need to get some off road time. I live in Tygh Valley, Oregon and a lot of the roads close around here in December, so I am looking west. I do NOT have a winch. Thanks for your time and help!
This sounds like something I'd be interested in, a relatively easy/beginner ride. I've been up there 3 times and I think the trails are marked well enough that even I can't get lost if I remember my map. Going on an easy trip for a few hours there are things you don't want to leave home without. Let me know what kind of gear you guys have and your wheeling experience, just so I have an idea of where we can go. If it stays fairly wet and not icy that would be ideal, we'll keep an eye on the weather.
I work Friday night so Saturday is not an option for me.
Chains also help in mud when worse comes to worse, it's always a good idea to have chains onboard anyway. After my last trip up there ice has made my hate list and that's difficult to do.
I am possibly game for Saturday, or Tuesday next week if you want to do during the week. I have been up there 3 times this year and stay to the moderate trails with my YJ. No winch on my rig so it will be good if one of the more experienced crew comes with one.
Definatly have the sticker, its only a few bucks and only takes a few minutes.
Lets watch the weather, it is raining sheets! At some point it could be too muddy without some MT's?
I could make it tomorrow, Monday, or next Monday the 29th. I haven't been out in months but would love to. If those dates work for anyone else give a shout out.
Have fun guys. I have Tuesday off and would go but my Jeep is still down from the 11/18 run. I had my driveshaft retubed. When I installed it I broke a bolt off in the pinion yoke. I tried to drill it out but couldn't get it to drill straight and ended up ruining the yoke. 4wheel parts was supposed to have a yoke there today but they called and said it won't be there until Wednesday. Happy holidays!
just got home. Grand daughter is sick so I have grandpa duty tomorrow. Sorry but I can not come now.
