I don't want to miss the snow again. So I want to do a Friday night run up Mt. Hood. If snow levels get down low enough we can do Lolo Pass, if not then we will go up to White River. I figure we can all meet at Shortys Corner outside of Sandy around 7 or 8. I will keep an eye on the snow level and conditions. Open to all makes and models. I can't wait to play in the white stuff. :-)
The snow level is supposed to around 2500' tomorrow with up to 8" of the white stuff and dropping down lower on Fri. with a couple more inches. Should be able to find something to play in. Looks like it should be fun.
Update: were gonna meet up at Shortys Corner at 730 and leave at 745. We'll head up to the White River area on Hwy 35. Shouldn't be out later than midnight, but we'll see how things go. I'm expecting there to be about 12" to 18" of fresh snow. So far I have 3 rigs coming.
Well it was an interesting night last night. Awesome snow, and it was snowing all night. We had a broken axle shaft that took a while to get sorted out. First time I've ever left a rig in the woods overnight. We all got home off of the mountain around 530 this morning. We headed back up this morning with some really great guys from Jeeps West. Got the jeep put together and brought it back home under its own power. Great run guys.
I can't thank the guys from Jeep West enough. Not only did they let me use an axle shaft to get back home, they also went back up with us with all the tools and Dave replaced it. Great people that helped a fellow jeeper in need. They will definitely get my business in the future!

Wow rusty1, good to know your Jeep is back up and running . I broke my driver's side front axle last month on Waterfall. I managed to shear both the inner and outer yokes when I had my wheels turned full locked towards driver and I gave the Jeep throttle.
The new replacement axle is still sitting in my garage until I have the time to replace it...
I won't be able to do it this Superbowl weekend... too much partying going on
It's a good thing, the replacement process is easy and quick, especially since I won't have to bother with u-joints (the replacement driver's axle comes completely assembled,u-joints and all).

The front is a bit easier, you don't have to open the diff. I,ll be at least be upgrading the shafts, or depending on the condition of the other parts, adding the Trutrac. It did bend one of the tabs on a brake shoe and I blew out the brake cyl. as well. Spent Sun. replacing the rear brakes. Got it buttoned up just in time for the game. Just need to get in in to Jeep West for the final repair, Nick and Dave went way above and beyond what I could have ever expected from anyone. We would have been there all day without them, they had to pull the spline end out thru the diff.
Looks like it was a fun time (minus the mechanical issues)!
