Leonards off road.

Anybody know why his phone is disconnected? Just about to get my gears installed by him. I know a couple people have used him in the past on WF. Anybody have any info?

Thanks! Michael

Thanks man! What were his rates? . Is it fine If you bring your own parts? I just got the Nitro Gears in the mail today. It was bad timing to find out I couldn't get a hold of him.

You can bring your own parts. Give him a ring. Very nice respected jeeper,
He's done so much work for my rigs I believe he's 50 an hour. He worked for Gresham Chrysler for years but quit to start his own business. He got sick of how the stealerships really do steal from us!

Thanks Ken! I knew $250 an axle to re-gear them wouldn't last long lol.

I do not want to bother him if he retired. I now have heard he is both out of the business and still in the business.

According to the state, Leonard's business license is inactive, notice of Administrative Dissolution was submitted to the state in November 2012.

Is Leonard, operating under a new business title? Or has he subcontracted/employed under a different shop?

Leonard's offroad

Talked to Leonard today. He says he is around if you look hard enough for him. If he gets enough people looking for a quality jeep builder, he will reconsider going back into business. So let's show him some support! He is the only one I trust in this area. And I have tried all the others. My jeep never has issues with Leonard's handy work. As far as his personality, I think he is funny as hell! He is witty and dry, and will offend you for sure. But he keeps it real and tells it like he sees it. He is great and I think we need to get him back into business! His previous partner is on board too! They only want to work on Jeeps, so I figure this is the best place to start. Thanks guys!

An update on my situation; I took Jason06rubi's advise and gave Shane Fay a call at Mountain Air Off road. The first time I spoke to him on the phone he spent about an hour and a half going through every detail of what I was considering getting done. Extremely helpful, informative and realistic. He was not the only call I made but with out a doubt the most enthusiastic about my business. Long story short I have an appointment on March 10th. He will be doing 4.88 Nitro gears. The Nitro Gears were recommended by Leonard to be on par with Yukon gears. Yukon also does not make 4.88s for a Dana 30. Along with the gears he will be doing ARB's front and rear accompanied by the compressor.

I really appreciate all the help! I will give you some honest feed back about my experience at Mountain Air in the coming weeks.

Thanks, Mike.

Well too late for the Yukons lol!!!

Ken, "finished" is all relative lol. I will have the big stuff out of the way....Aside from the 35's. Everything else I have planned I can do myself, SYE, Metalcloaks, bumpers, Currie Currectlync, Chromo axle shafts, slightly bigger lift, UCA's and some more armour.....Oh man that's alot!

Yeah, it puts a hurtin' on the bank account, that's for sure! Don't forget to upgrade your breaks. I did the centric rotors and black magic pads and it works pretty well.

Hope so. Can't wait to run and see the finished product. Oh wait, the projects never finished with jeeps

I'll be putting a rubicrawler box in hopefully by summer. More low range for super crawling and crushers!

Ahhh, gotcha.

Every time, I sit down and plan my build for 35's and tally the costs - I think, "It's not so bad running 33's on limited slips."

I need a windfall to take my Jeep to the next level...

Baby steps Ken... Baby steps! I bought my D44 and it sat in my garage for a couple years before I got it installed. Just bought parts here and there until I was ready.

Same here, I bought my Dana 44 probably 7-8 months ago, Bought the gears around 5-6 months, then the lockers in January. It's in the shop as we speak!
