May 16th T.S.F. run

9am let's meet at the chevron gas station off exit 57 on hwy 26. I usually like to figure out trails when we meet up. fb5, rocky uphill are a couple of my favorites though. If you are new. An atv sticker is required and can be had along the way. A shovel and gallon of water or fire extinguisher as well.

Can't wait !!

I'm thinking we should start at mile post 18 and run all of trail 28. Then make our way over to fb5 and if there is time do saddle up and the hill climb on hogs back. Then we should be able to end up by Roger's camp.

Also, this will be mostly black diamond trails. There are bypasses if anyone is uncomfortable on a trail. But just want to let anyone who is thinking about going know that these trails are on the more difficult end of the spectrum.

Saddle Up is like an extended Hogsback hill climb, only steeper and is notorious for taking out many a Cherokee's rear window.

Looking forward to this run .

I'm installing my SYE this weekend, so I'll have an additional 1" belly clearance for this run .

Sorry guys, another setback on my SYE project - just discovered I need a Currie bracket to fit my Currie track bar. The bracket won't arrive until this Friday or Saturday. I'll have to pass on this run...

My understanding is that Black Diamond Trails equate to probable body damage??? Not quite ready to do that to mine yet (2012 w/ 2000 miles)....will it be ok to tag along and take notes?!?!

Black Diamond doesn't mean necessarily mean body damage. It's usually a more difficult trail and it's easier to get through if you've got larger tires and a lift. I've been on double black diamonds without getting any damage or even catching a rock.

I wheel often with this group and I am usually the smallest Jeep. To give you an idea of scope, I'm running:
  • 2" suspension lift + 1.25" body lift
  • 33" tires
  • Not locked but running limited slip differentials
  • Armored rocker panel and underside

I would keep up with the group on the single black diamond trails. I haven't damaged my Jeep, although I have scraped the underside a tad. On double black or higher, I usually take a bypass but I've been known to take on an obstacle when in the mood .

Group is still going . Unfortunately due to the time it takes UPS to deliver a package to my door - I will not be attending this run

Looks like the weather is going to be great though .
