Love jeep wranglers, never owned one. Looking to buy one. Any suggestions on what year models are better? What to avoid? I already know I want v6, 4.0. Live in Portland, OR. On the hill. Wish I had one couple weeks ago during snow storm.
Rust is going to be the biggest issue you'll run into when purchasing a Wrangler. And it is specific to the model year your looking at. For example: YJ's (87-96) rust around the windshield, the floors and the frame.
Mileage isn't really a consideration in Jeeps. My old TJ had 171000 on it and was still going strong and my YJ has 180000.
Check for leaks, cracks and the overall appearance. Really look that thing over good and then consult the forum with pics and questions before you buy. We won't steer you wrong.
What do you think about this? Found this ad. Will probably go look at it tomorrow.

Have them knock off some $$$ for the smashed fender. And the lack of leaf springs. And it doesn't have square headlights. LOL. It will look really sharp after you lose the nerf bars for some real sliders and some aftermarket bumpers....sweet.
