Follow me down the crusher when its wet and then tell me you have no issues on the rocks. Running the kevlars at 5 psi I had to use my lockers more then I wanted compaired to other tires I ran.

i have no doubt that other tires do better, but for what i have i haven't had any issues. i would love to go back to my firestone tires if they made the in 35's. i do agree that the sidewalls are very stiff

Out of curiosity, why didn't you consider BFG KM2s? I like them and I think their lug pattern and soft compound (much softer, compared to the original KM1s) should do well on wet and dry rocks. I had mine siped and they also do well on asphalt .

KM2's were 45$ more a tire then the Kevlars

I just put on a set of guard dogs last weekend. I'm happy with them. What size did you go with. I bought some 16 rims and went with 285/75/16s.

Very nice ! I went with the 315/70/17 (34.5's). I like the look of the stock wheels so it worked out well. Looks like you got a nicer sidewall grip on the 16's though. I'm going wheeling at Browns Camp this weekend so I'm excited to see how they do after my Duratracs.

I still like the IROKS when you are seriously doing something like the upper or lower crushers.. Not so great a tire for mileage though.

I currently have 33's and am thinking about putn 35's on. I have the 4.0 straight six. Am i going to loose alot of power?? Alao it is geared for the 33's. so the guy i bought it from told me but not sure what gears they are. It pulls the 33's just fine.

You will loose power. Stick to 33's until you can clear a 35 and plan to regear. Thats my opinion.

I have a 4" lift. I think i can clear 35's. but my issue is how much power lose? I talked to a guy today that has 35's and is running a 4 cylinder. He said he noticed a little power lose but not alot?

If your looking to regear I charge $200 labor per axle. I typical regear would about $900 for both axle. That includes gears, minor install kits and labor. Cost more if new carriers ate need or you want a full case locker installed.

Your gonna need more than a 4 inch lift to clear 35's. Plan to lift more and regear. Im runing 3.73's with a 4.0 and 5 spd and noticed the power and mpg loss but im regearing soon.

Depending what gears you have if you have loss of power. Ideally 4.10's or 4.56's is what you want for setup to run 35's.

Pop the diff cover and on the ring gears there's a bunch of numbers. The last three should tell you. Ie 4 10 or 4 11 at the end means 4.10's

It can be add some type of fenders like metalcloak. With metalcloak set you can run 35's with no lift on a TJ

I agree with Banks316, a 4" inch lift will clear 35 tires but the fenders may be an issue. I have a 4 inch lift but I also have a 1" body lift and it clears the tires easily, no rubbing on turns or stuff like that. I also have Bushwacker flat fender flares too. In hindsight, I probably could have put on 35's keeping the stock fenders while using the body lift+suspension lift, or no body lift and just the Bushwacker fenders+suspension lift. Either way, I think with a 4-inch lift, you should be able to fit the 35's in at least for street use. With trails and wheel travel, not sure what would happen.
As far as power loss, I run 4.56 gears and really don't notice any change in power. Again, in hindsight, when I built up my TJ, it ended up being a little heavy, more than I thought- or the truck scale is lying. Since my Jeep is a little chubby, I think that's what really made a change in my MPG's.
I also run the Goodyear MTR's. I personally think it's a nice tire and I am happy so far, but when I am done, I may try a set of IROK's just for the experience...may need to get some ear plugs for the road noise when that time comes or just trailer it...

I ran balancing sand in my Irok bias ply and they were no louder the kevlars I ran.
