Rookie heading to the dunes. Not sure where to go..

I have had my Jeep for a couple months now and need to get it out of town. I'm looking toward the coast for the first trip . My girlfriend and I live in Bend and would like to cruz over, wheel a bit, hopefully camp on the beach and head back the next day. The OHV area south of Florence looks like the closest but I would'nt hesitate to drive farther to a better spot. If anyone has any knowledge on this they'd like to share I'd appreciate it!

Sand lake just north of Pacific City is also a popular dune destination, beyond that I know nothing about sand, hopefully some of the other forum inmates will chip in

Years ago sand dunes from Horse Fall to BoxCar just north of North Bend was great trails and dunes. Did that back when I was riding 3 and 4 wheelers so don't know the laws relating to Jeeps these days but sure you can check it out.

Thanks for the input. I think I've got a good idea of where to go. I'll be sure to put up some pics when I get back.

Sand Lake is too small, Florence is good times, and Winchester Bay is good
