It is about 10 hours to Georgetown, Ca. You can spend the night there and next day take one of the two routes in - Ice House Road or through Wentworth Springs.

The trail could be done in a day but it is much better to take some time and camp out at one of the lakes.

From Oregon I would plan for at least 4 days total including the drive downand back.

Roughly speaking If I get to the trailhead sunday evening and take 2 days (Monday and Tuesday) to run the trail I'm thinking of being home wednesday or Thursday. I would probably run the less agresive obstacles since I have to drive it home.

We have a couple of jeeps that ate considering going. We are thinking about leaving on Thursday morning. We need to be back for work on the 4th, so we'd be home by Monday evening at the latest.

i did rubicon 3-4 times last year....i think the next trip i make down there will be for fordyce. those trails are pretty close....fordyce is 40 miles from tahoe (where rubicon ends)...you guys should make a longer trip and hit up both. fordyce is more difficult though...but lots of fun stuff for extreme wheeling

my ca friends just invited me to do rubicon sept 21-23 ....considering it. let me know if anyone would be interested in following me down there that weekend?
same friends did fordyce last weekend and they all broke stuff....that trail is too "extreme" for anything that is street legal

Shauna,
Theres a group going down to hit the Rubicon and possibly the other one you mentioned. Im considering tagging along with them. They are leaving on September 23 and returning on the 29th. So far they have 4 jeeps in the group. You could join up with this one also.

If anyone is still doing any of these later Sept. trails, please let me know. I just installed my 8.8 and all I need to do is gear and lock it up, then I'm good to go. I should be able to do one of these trips.
