I should have my front axle fixed by that time if the weather improves (lol, I refuse to work on the Jeep when it's too cold). If I'm up and running, I'm in .

A. Is it noob friendly?

B. Where are you going?

C. Would an LJ with ~2.5" of lift and 31" tires be able to get through it?

Depending on the scenario I'd be interested in a Saturday or Sunday run on either end of that week in March.

EDIT: I just saw on the link it's at Brown's camp so scratch B from the list.

i am looking to run archers west to east. it has some difficult areas but they have bypasses,

yes noobs are welcome it might be tough though on 31's, i'm not sure i am hoping some other people chime in with an answer i'm not sure on what it takes to clear the rocks.

A Jeep on 2.5" SL on 31's will be able to traverse most of Archer's.

Bypass is recommended on the Hill o' Doom, Rock Garden, Waterfall, and Can Opener.

The last technical black diamond section of Archers, Rocky Uphill does not offer a short bypass but is the last eastward section of Archers. Body damage is probable. I do not recommend 31's on this trail when the weather gives slick conditions. Winching is likely on 31's, even when dry. I've seen locked 31's struggle too...

Well, I will have my winch hooked up by then and I'm ok with having to bypass the more technical and big obstacles. The body damage part is not something I'm looking to do, but it's not intended to be a street queen, I just don't have any protection and I don't want to F-up the tub. If you're talking cosmetic like scrapes and scratches with a dent or two along the rocker that's not such a big deal, if you're saying that my rig is going to get beat to hell I think I'll pass.

Also, I do not want to slow anyone down or prevent them from having the good fun they intend to by being the guy that holds everything up or limits the group. So please, don't put me in that position if it's going to be a problem. Thanks!

Safety is 1st and foremost, we want everyone to have fun and be able to drive home intact. From my experience with the members of this forum, they are respectful and courteous on wheeling runs and do not encourage people to disregard trail etiquette. You should be fine .

There are runs where the objective is technical difficult trails. The poster of the run usually will list requirements such as tire size limitations e.g. > 33", must have a locked diff (front and rear preferred), winch, armor etc.. This run does not appear to be that type of run.

Yeah, you should check out Airplane Hill, the main technical run is doable with a locked Jeep on 33's. The level of difficulty for that trail has been toned down.

Dang I ran airplane filters the beginning of last summer but the hill looked gnarly so we didn't run it but I'm gonna have to go take a look when they open the gate back up!

I would love to go to some of these events, but being that I work almost every weekend, I can never seem to go.

Any trails up there that are ok to do by yourself? My 06 LJ Rubicon is stock height, but has 31s, body armor all around, and a winch.

Always a good idea to have someone with you in case of a problem, but there are a bunch of easy trails up there. Cedar tree, hood raiser, university, Bates, etc. You can do all of those trails. Just stay away from Fire Break 5, rocky uphill and black diamond trails like those. Get yourself a a trail map.

Thanks for the info. I wish I could go on the weekends, but my typical work week gives me Tuesday and Wednesday off. My wife also has a jeep, but she is off on Saturday and Sunday. So it makes hitting the trails a hard thing to do.
