No, you're not stupid man. If the noise stops with the belt off then that isolates the noise to a belt driven part. If the noise stops then put the belt back on and fire it up. A long screw driver makes a good stethoscope, put one side against your ear and touch the other end against anything belt driven (tensioner, water pump, alternator, power steering pump ect..) you should find the problem part pretty easy that way.

Did something work its way into your air intake? Check if the noise is still present with the intake tube removed from the throttle body. Like James mentioned, I hear more of a whistle vs. a squeal due to metal.

Sure, Fast Specialties is located at: 1200 NE 95th Vancouver, WA. 98665
They will not be allow vehicles in until close to 10:30am. The only reason our group will be showing up early is to help out with the setup since I am one of the people that has been involved in helping put this show together.

There were about 20 of us there. We were all parked together at the end of the lot, the area farthest from the DJ.

I was there for just a bit around 2pm lurking with my wife. I had a yellow hat on and she was in green probably not looking all that enthused We really didn't have the time in the schedule to hang out for a good part of the day so we just stopped buy and walked around for a bit. I drove the jeep there ... but it was more of just a drive by and park across the way, then we walked in and around. Some really really nice rigs there. Really like the JK Unlimited 4drs on 40+s but the accountant in my head has a heart attack calculating up the cost!

Sigh, I spent the better part of Sunday in search of a lower rear control bolt, that I sheared off (130 ft lbs is a lot of torque) during a Saturday maintenance session.

The elusive M14x2x105 - could you get any rarer?
