n2jepn,

Saw all the wranglers parked at Leonardo's pizza on suday evening. Talked to somone in the parking lot (didn't catch his name) He told me there are monthly meetings. The wife and I are looking to join a club for runs and events. Looked like a great turn out! We would love to come to the next meet. Thanks

GoTopLess Day Saturday May 18th 2013

Our Wrangler forum Group (SW Washington & NW Oregon) is putting on a Cruise for Go Topless Day on May 18th 2013. We are planning to drive from Troutdale Oregon east via scenic Oregon roads, crossing the Columbia River via The Dalles Bridge returning to Vancouver Washington west via scenic SR14 in Washington, about a 200 mile cruise.

We will be in the historic Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area that encompasses 292,500 acres, running from the mouth of the Sandy River to the mouth of the Deschutes and spanning southern Washington and northern Oregon for 85 miles. The Gorge is unique in its natural and cultural history, as well as its designation as a National Scenic
Area.

Depending on how many show up we may stop for lunch in The Dalles area or we may need to eat on the run, be prepared. Be prepared for the changing weather conditions that may occur.

We will meet in Troutdale Oregon at the Sandy Bridge.

Be ready to go with a full tank of fuel, a large group travels slow so we will need to get going and keep on the move.

Gather at 8 am
Leaving at 9am

Directions to the meeting place:

From Portland Oregon Travel Eastbound I-84
Take Exit 17 Marine Drive / 257th Avenue
At Stop Light Straight on (Chevron on your right)
At Stop Light RT Turn onto 257th Avenue (Loves truck Stop on you right)
At Stop Light Straight on (gorge outlet mall on your left)
At Stop Light Left Turn onto Columbia River HWY “Gateway to the Gorge”
Drive through old part of Troutdale Oregon
Follow the road through the S Curves and across the narrow Sandy River Bridge
RT Turn at the ENE end of bridge where it T’s at the Columbia River Scenic Hwy/Crown Point Hwy, meet on the Right in the large parking lot.

Go to Google Maps and type in (or copy) the GPS coordinates: N45°32.304’ W122°22.533’ for a map of the meeting place.

Night Run Wednesday April 24th

I am putting together a night run. Should be a great night for it. They are talking almost 80 degrees that day. All levels of Jeepers are welcome. Night runs are fun and you get a completely different perspective of the trails. Probably meet up in North Plains around 6 or 7. Will confirm that once we have some interest in the run.

GMRS/FSR radios

Our Club uses CB channel 22. I would like to also add GMRS/FSR radios as an alternative frequency to use for those that do not have a CB. We could use channel 22 with a privacy code of CTCSS 22. Please post any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions you may have?

We are still working on the date for the Relay For Life Cancer Run. It looks like it will be June 15th. They are just working on getting a meeting location close to TSF finalized so they can post everything. I am one of the people helping out and also making sure that we do not schedule anything on the date they need.

Thumbs up The "Weekend Run" spending May 17-18th...

This is "Not" the Official Memorial run.

However it is the group I have wheeled with over many years, and some of you may know some of them from the Tahuya run up north. It is a family atmosphere event and is our 15th annual Long Beach Run... This not a Wrangler only event, a few other vehicles will be there.
I know Mark has a scheduled run through the gorge on the same day May 18th Topless day and we also have the following "Memorial official Long Beach day run" with the Jennings Team as well..

So here is another option if you are looking for a weekend run which allows you on "May 18th ONLY" to drive on the beach from Seaview all the way to Ocean Park... This is the only day being allowed because of the Fishing Derby they have on May 18th. Come join us if you are interested.

We are staying at the breakers Inn Friday and Saturday night along with several other people who already have reservations. We are also planning on having our annual covered BBQ Bring your own food Saturday night onsite too. We are meeting at the Arches in Long Beach, Wa at 9-930am Saturday May 18th.. for the run.

If you are interested in the "Weekend Run" May 18th, let me know.

How do I "join" the group?

First off.....HELLO everyone!!

I see you guys have frequent get togethers, do I just show up and introduce myself when I see one posted, or is there some other way to join your group?

I was finally able to get my first Wrangler in March of this year, bought a 2001 bone stock with 109,000 (let the mods begin), she will be my wheelin rig and my daily driver. I just installed a WARN M8000 on a Smittybilt raised plate and cut the stock front bumper off at frame width, added a double-3" square tube rear bumper with receiver and have the Rough Country 2.5" lift kit with track bar adapter (now to find the time for install) sitting in the garage. Any insight to making this install go smoothly would be greatly appreciated.

Is there anywhere closer to Vancouver than Brown's Camp to wheel? I have been told to steer clear of Jone's Creek on Larch because of impending fines. (?) I go up there a lot to shoot and see plenty of rigs on the road, maybe I just need to know where to go.

N E ways......

I look forward to meeting you all and learning a LOT from you.
