I was finally able to get my first Wrangler in March of this year, bought a 2001 bone stock with 109,000 (let the mods begin), she will be my wheelin rig and my daily driver. I just installed a WARN M8000 on a Smittybilt raised plate and cut the stock front bumper off at frame width, added a double-3" square tube rear bumper with receiver and have the Rough Country 2.5" lift kit with track bar adapter (now to find the time for install) sitting in the garage. Any insight to making this install go smoothly would be greatly appreciated.

Is there anywhere closer to Vancouver than Brown's Camp to wheel? I have been told to steer clear of Jone's Creek on Larch because of impending fines. (?) I go up there a lot to shoot and see plenty of rigs on the road, maybe I just need to know where to go.

N E ways......

I look forward to meeting you all and learning a LOT from you.
Hi there,
Yes do try to have monthly runs and we do have meeting on the second Sunday of the month. Yes you can just show up. Can you make this Sundays GTG? Is so stop buy and say hi. We /I do go to Larch Mt in Washington. Talk to me not sure what fines you are talking about. You do need a Washington Discover Pass, without one and “if” you get stopped in a required area, yes they can fine you.

We will be in the historic Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area that encompasses 292,500 acres, running from the mouth of the Sandy River to the mouth of the Deschutes and spanning southern Washington and northern Oregon for 85 miles. The Gorge is unique in its natural and cultural history, as well as its designation as a National Scenic

Depending on how many show up we may stop for lunch in The Dalles area or we may need to eat on the run, be prepared. Be prepared for the changing weather conditions that may occur.

We will meet in Troutdale Oregon at the Sandy Bridge.

Be ready to go with a full tank of fuel, a large group travels slow so we will need to get going and keep on the move.

Directions to the meeting place:

From Portland Oregon Travel Eastbound I-84
Take Exit 17 Marine Drive / 257th Avenue
At Stop Light Straight on (Chevron on your right)
At Stop Light RT Turn onto 257th Avenue (Loves truck Stop on you right)
At Stop Light Straight on (gorge outlet mall on your left)
At Stop Light Left Turn onto Columbia River HWY “Gateway to the Gorge”
Drive through old part of Troutdale Oregon
Follow the road through the S Curves and across the narrow Sandy River Bridge
RT Turn at the ENE end of bridge where it T’s at the Columbia River Scenic Hwy/Crown Point Hwy, meet on the Right in the large parking lot.

I would be interested in going if you wouldn't mind showing a newb the ropes. I have only played around the TSF on 2 wheels back when I was younger.

I am installing the lift Friday night/ Saturday morning then alignment saturday afternoon so should be ready to go on Sunday morning.

Well... thats the thing. I was hoping someone else was going so I could tag along. I'm a newb too. I have only been there once. It was amazing and I want to go back.

Hey guys sorry for the lack of updates but we haven't had info to share until this evening.

We are a go for Saturday 6/15/13, registration will be held at a farm near Brown's Camp and we'll return to the farm to hang out and eat after a few hours on the trails. I'm drafting the official announcement now and will have it posted before morning.

Anyone with a Wrangler is welcome to attend and so is the family. As far as the food, each person just orders for themselves if they plan to eat.

Hope to see you there.

I will be in long beach / ocean park but sadly my jeep will be at home. Bringing the trailer and the motorcycle. Hope to see all the wranglers driving up the beach.

Depending on your route and if you want a little fun : in Oregon there is fort Stevens state park and you can drive up the beach to some fun dunes to climb. Just about 15 minutes from Astoria.

Do you have to drive North to get to the dunes? We were there a few weeks ago and didnt see anything to climb. Of course we only drove south.

Enter the beach at ft Stevens at the wreck. Then drive up the beach left / north for about a mile or a bit more. Up on your left you will see about 5 dune climbing runs. You can actually drive through the too back to the hwy.

We plan on going but won't be able to meet you at Burgerville. We are camping this weekend and don't want to drive backwards to Vancouver. Can we meet you guys in Long Beach? What time do you think you will arrive at the beach?
