TSF run 12/3/11

Hey guys,

Chris-Banks316 and I are planning to go to TSF this Saturday morning.

Meeting at the shell station off Hwy 6 @ 8:15 am. take off for TSF by 8:45.

Not sure if there is much snow up there still but its probably pretty muddy.

Anyone is welcome to Join us. If your not sure about a trail or think your Jeep won't make it there are service roads to bypass most trails.

I don't have a quit time in mind, but I plan to be home before dark unless something happens.

Also, I'm not sure how to add events to facebook so if some one could post it up there as well it would be appreciated.

Yup! That's me! I am getting my jk lifted tomorrow. Nothing crazy, just 2.5 with 35s but it is going to be a great change! Put me down at about 80% on making this run. I really want get her out after the lift.

Apeezee: You do not need to be lifted your JK will do just fine. Drive with finesse. ;-)

Hope ya make it.

Looks like we have 5 for sure going, and 4 maybes. So we could see up to 9 rigs. Should be a great time.

Oh I know I've been up there all stock. The extra ground clearance is going to be nice though.

Put me as a maybe. Why do all the runs have to happen when the wife wants to do "something"?

Good run, nice weather, only one person broke down. Bent the tie rod trying to fly up Firebreak. I managed to straighten it out so he could get home. We ran the power lines to trail 14. I played around on The Crusher while waiting for group to catch up. Three people left, and then we ran Hogs Back. Also went down Rocky Uphill and I attempted to go up The Can Opener but didn't have a good line so I backed down it.

Next run Im planning will be on the 20th. Will be for modified rigs, I'm planing on running all of trail 28 from west to east. This will include trails like The Waterfall, Can Opener, Rock Garden, Rocky Uphill.

Thanks for posting the videos. I'll get the 2 videos I have of you posted up here soon.

After that section of FB5 I lowered my tire pressure from 11.5 psi to 9.5 psi. Made a big difference in traction. I'm thinking next time I'll start out at 8 psi. Seems like the mixture of really wet clay and rocks made those tires not shine at all.

Had a great time. Interesting how FB5 always changes. Now with the rok o' doom moved, I have a feeling that they may close that section of FB5 off for maintenance.

That's my kind of run (well, sorta) because my Jeep's my daily driver and that I'm running 33's and not locked - I can only watch on the double black diamond obstacles. James and I, ran 28 end to end when it was raining and muddy . Archers is a good day run.
