Hey everyone! Where can I find the details on the run? I'm new to the group and will be some friends with their jeeps too.

Don't feel bad. My new bumpers won't even ship for another week, so I am mostly stock....

Would a total newbie in a stock YJ be able to cut it where you're heading, or would it be wise to wait for a rookie run in better conditions?

Not sure what trails they are doing or if it is open for anyone to tag along. If it is I may go as well.

The nice thing about TSF is if they go up a trail that may not be stock friendly then you can go around the trail and meet them at the end of the hard section. They have gravel roads around everything. The guys running the run should be able to let ya know if a trail should be avoided.

Snapped the motor mount off the side of the block again. Ive fab two different mounts only to have all possible mounting holes on the block break. Only option left is a new engine. I have a HO block and 258 crank and rods. Just need perforamce cam, lifters, push rods, pistons, rings, rod/crank bearings, gasket kit, Ford 5.0 injectors, header, and have the block bored out then she will be back on the road. But since im going to Mississippi at the end of April and I just bought a Stak 3 speed transfer case my funds are limited. Ill have to wait till May before I can order parts.

My brother had a CJ (?) with a 258 straight 6 (? I think...AMC. ) He had trouble with Bent Push rods, I must have put three sets in that engine .

Is there a way or anything you can achor to , to hold the engine from "Torking" up under a load ?? Front or back, maybe even a bell housing bolt ?

I'm talking about a link or a cable or a chain to hold it down.... We use lots of these in Racing Engines back in the old days...Attached from the engine to the frame.
Chevelay was plagued with broken mounts on the Big Block engines in 65-66, Their fix was a bolt on plate that went to the block bolts and a short cable that wrapped around the upper mount plate and was held with a pin to the bottom plate....Hard to Visulize...
I suppose if your block is broken out, your done with it unless you can have em welded or find a different way to mount it...
Good luck, "BH"

Before I bought my jeep the PO got drunk and hit a rock at 50mph. I fixed the broken mount, only.to brake it again when I fell asleep and ended up in at ditch at 55mph. After that I rebuilt.the mount but it didn't last too long. My next days off ill try repair it one last time so I can drive it to my friend.house.
