Fall is slowly starting to make it’s appearance in the Tillamook State Forest and that means it’s time for another OHV Work Party! Come help us winterize some of the 4-Wheel Drive Routes in the Browns Camp area.



This project is co-hosted by the Jolly Jeepers.

The Jolly Jeepers have adopted the Rocky Uphill segment of Archers Firebreak through the ODF Adopt-a-Trail program.



Project: 4x4 Trail Maintenance / Improvements



Project Location: Archers Firebreak (#28) / Hoodraiser (#20) / Hogsback (#18)



Project Date: September 13th, 2008



Meeting Time: Sign-In at 8:30 A.M. / Trail Work Starts at 9:00 A.M.



Meeting Location: Lyda Camp – by the information board

Driving Directions

1. Hwy 6 to Milepost 28

2. Turn South onto South Fork Road

3. South Fork Road @ 3 miles to the split in the road

4. Turn right across the concrete bridge

5. Drive 150’ into Lyda Camp





Project Description:

The project will require walking and working on steep uneven terrain and hiking on and off-trail to access the work party site.



Trail Maintenance Work will include:

Brushing
Cleaning trail drainage structures
Removing debris from trail
Garbage pick-up
Trail Sign Replacement
Blocking of Side Routes / Mud holes




What to Bring:

ODF will provide hand tools but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Other items needed for work are:

· Chainsaws (with chaps, hardhat, goggles, gloves, and ear protection)

· Winches

· Loppers, pole saws, pruning tools

· Shovels, Rock Bars

· Gloves

· Lunch / Water



Appropriate clothing for the work includes boots or sturdy shoes, long pants (no shorts), and gloves



If you plan to participate, please contact Jahmaal Rebb at least one week prior to the work party date so an adequate number of tools are reserved. Last minute workers are welcome too.
