Where to find desert trail maps

I was hoping someone in this forum would know where to find a physical map of all the small backroads, forest roads, and two lane trails in the Alvord Desert region.

Example of what I'm trying to find in a physical form:

Excuse my technological ignorance, but would a GPS be able to track these roads? Or a specific model of GPS? I'm trying to arrange a bit of an Overland expedition type of trip in the coming months.

Thanks for any help!

Try to get "quad sheets" for the particular area you want to wheel in. I know we have several of the Steens area. My husband picked them up at Cook's Stationary in Salem. Contact BLM or USFS and see where you can get some close to you.

I used the DeLorme Topo North America software, and a DeLorme PN GPS to track our routes and locations when we road the Alvord a few years ago. Another rider in our group used a Garmin. Setting the POI's and way points took some time but was plenty easy to do. You can buy a map from the BLM,
