I was hoping for some good suggestions for servicing my 2014 JKR in the Portland area
Only 1500 miles on it so far so thinking ahead and a few people have suggested not to have servicing done by the Jeep dealerships as they tend to charge more and perhaps it is better to build a relationship with one servicing place that gets to know you and your Jeep beyond the warranty period
I was just seeking advice on non dealership jeep servicing options for the future
The guy I purchased my Jeep from advised against using the Jeep dealerships and recommended I find a local service garage and build a relationship with them.
I am under warranty so not sure how that affects coverage.
No need for service yet of course but at 3-4K will want oil change tire rotation etc
NW Jeep in Beaverton threw it in with the purchase on my JK. I can't remember how many, but I believe it was like 15-20 oil changes? It does have a time limit on it though. No clue on the actual cost though, they included it in the sale. I imagine you could haggle with them.
I’m looking, too, but for someone out of the dealer network. I have had hits and misses with all of the Jeep dealers (I’ve used them all - Vancouver, Beaverton, Hillsboro) to fix issues like death wobble, leaking tops, etc. I do my own oil changes, but for the messy stuff like transmission, diff, brake, radiator fluids I’d like to find a diligent go-to mechanic I can rely on - the dealers have high turnover and sometimes you get a good tech, and sometimes not so much...
